## Gratitude to the Reddit Community
Thank you, Reddit community, for giving me the inspiration to persist in my battle.
## Seeking Advice on Claims Process
I have recently been granted 100% P&T, which is fantastic news. However, I am currently in the midst of a stage 3 supplemental claim for sleep apnea secondary to asthma and/or Tera. I am unsure whether to allow this claim to continue or to withdraw it. Will this claim have any impact on my newly awarded benefits? I have already undergone a C&P exam, but I have just received an email stating that another one is being scheduled. Your insights and advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Wont hurt anything to play out and OSA and Asthma are good to have as they can be serious over time
Yes it can it effect your 100%P&T rating. The chances of that are very slim and they would have to find something wrong with your other claims.
Depending on your ratings you may be eligible for special monthly compensation. I’d look into this.
I got 60% for a couple issues and 100% for another and the extra money is something I will never complain about so theirs your answer.
You can’t be rated for asthma and sleep apnea so take that into account- so essentially if you’re awarded you’re rating may get adjusted
I was rated at 30% asthma (total 80%) I put in secondary claim for sleep apnea. They combined sleep apnea with asthma and that one rating went to 100% with the others I’m 160% smc-s. Let it ride hopefully you come out like me.
You should always get rated for anything you’re eligible for because if you pass away from Disability, your rated for your spouse would be compensated.
Congrats,

Stop fighting for claims and now focus on care. Don’t put your self through that unnecessary stress. Start focusing that time into health care appointments, and/or if possible something productive. Congratulations, take a breath.
I was also awarded 100% P&T. Now back in December 2023 i filed for two increases , an SMC & HLR . Fast forward to April 18th i was granted my two increases and my SMC , that put me at 100% P&T…. They closed that claim … My informal phone call for my HLR was on April 19th ( the day after ) the VA found some errors so they closed the HLR and they turned it into an appeals claim . A couple weeks later they had me set up my own C&P exam .. crazy right ? Anyway , I talked to my VSO and he said there was no need to go to it because i was already 100% P&T and that claim was closed . So now va.gov is also showing me at stage 3 evidence gathering and decision…. Oh ,,, and just yesterday i received a check for travel reimbursement to the C&P exam i never went to .. lol
Let it roll! It won’t hurt you new T&P and it will help your dependants get DIC if you die from something respiratory related. The more the better!
In December 2023 I got 100% SC T&P with SMC-S and had Depression deferred. A couple months later I had a C&P for Depression and a month after that they rated me another 70% for PTSD.
Congrats!
From what I’ve heard..if you deserve it go for it. I had a pending HLR and was advised not to close it even after I was awarded. I still have pending supplemental out there and my claims have been looked and re-looked by VBA for the last 9 months. I go to my VA appointments and continue treatment.
eg the denied my IBS. Been going to VA gastro for the last 9 months they keep giving me meds without results.
I guess it’s up to you and how you feel about your condition.
But either way there’s still the sense of fear of the VBA might get a case of the asses
Let it ride, it shouldn’t change your rating, same thing happened to me. They rated you 100% without including the unfinished claim.
If it was a part of the same claim that got you up to 100% before fully being done, let it play itself out. If you withdraw it, you may cause a red flag for them to question other things. Once the claim is fully done, do not file any other claims. If you do, it opens the door for them to check on improvements for your other conditions.
Asthma and sleep apena are in the same rating. I have asthma and sleep apnea, but only rated for asthma after two tries.
Definitely don’t withdraw any claims. I have 100 T and P but individually I have 340 which when rated gave me 100 T&P. The other claims could give you more money or an earlier effective date. Also if you die as a result of something your rated for your surviving spouse can get your same amount after your deceased. So NEVER withdraw anything. Your already 100 you have nothing to lose
Let it ride out and hopefully you get rated. My asthma absolutely murks me climbing stairs
Im in the same boat, was granted 100% on my birthday in March and now I have a c&p tomorrow for my lower back….
Health is wealth don’t underestimate those ailments without getting the proper guidance on your future health preventables as those you named are silent killers so make sure diet protocol etc is followed to give you a chance to enjoy life versus suffer.
Keep them. Go and be seen.
Let it play out.
It won’t hurt either way it go, the more rated the better.
Don’t ever open another claim or get in trouble with the law, those are the only 2 ways they can decrease you!!! *other than errors found.
Congrats 🍾🎉🎈
Go to appt
Congratulations 🎊
If the claim was in before the rating decision I’m not sure that it would be considered poking the bear. The VA employees here would know better about that, but I don’t think there is any danger letting claims in progress play out.
Congrats

let it roll

Continue the claim. Backpay.
Congratulations
So if your already awarded 100% and still have something scheduled you will have to schedule it yourself. That’s whatt happens to me . Since I already had 100% they couldn’t just continue to schedule your claims .
This sub is useless. I’ve posted questions so many times to receive no response.
