    I am not familiar with Suncorp, but is this ÔÇ£kid no access accountÔÇØ something Suncorp really offers, or is it your interpretation of what you think they setup that may be be incorrect?

    With our bank, when a parent setup the first account (usually a savings account) in a young childÔÇÖs name, the parent could elect whether enable internet access, etc for the child, etc. but the account belongs to the child regardless and the parent is just an authorised guardian who can manage the account before they turn 18. Once the kid is older and opens another account and enables access (eg a spending account), the first account would also appear as they are the legal account owner. When the kid turns 18, the parentÔÇÖs access will be automatically revoked as the bank considers the kid as an adult has the right to decide what they want to do with their accounts. Ie you cannot ÔÇ£hideÔÇØ an account from its legal account owner.

    If I understand what you are trying to do, you may want to consider setting up a distinct savings account under your name, or see if they support a trust account under your name as trustee for the child thus you are the legal owner with full control but the child is the beneficial owner and would not see the account until / unless you make arrangement to grant them access.

    Most suncorps I’m aware of have like 1 consultant working each day. The other staff aren’t allowed to open accounts over the counter, it has to be in office. I would simply call up your branch and book an appointment with the consultant and you can then have the time to discuss accounts.
