Submitted a claim after getting much advise on here and learning the claims process. Filed for GERD, which I wasnt aware I was diagnosed back in 2003, prior to my separation; filed for tinnitus – used hazardous noise exposure MOS lists, which listed mine as “highly probable”; sinusitis and rhinitis based on presumptive as GW Vet there during 1991 oil well fires which filled the air with soot. Got all the info to support everything (DD214 showing SW Asian Medals, etc), training records copies for MOS, list of noise exposures for the onset of tinnutis (during service and event that caused it), personal statements for EACH claimed issue individually. Attached all the pertinent evidence to each of 21-4138s, and the 21-526EZ, and Filed as Fully Developed on May 17, 2024. May 21, assigned to rater, May 22, called by QTC, May 31, scheduled for C&P. Getting everything up front makes it easier for them [VBA rater] to get a claim pushed through, because the have quotas and this HELPS THEM ALSO. Please do this! I’ve seen so many complaints about the process and denials because brothers and sisters are listening to some that are just throwing claims against the wall and seeing what sticks. I know, I’ve done it, and it took close to 12 mos to get an exam for 2 issues, because I was relying on the “VA” to prove my case. This time I spent 3 months studying the 38 CFR, getting all my “evidence”, to include private doctors’ diagnoses that I then attached to secure messages to my VA Primary doc to place into my record, and requested the prescriptions be filled by the VA pharmacy to start a record of continued treatment/medications. Doing this has put me at the 3-month mark with a C&P exam already. It works faster this way. Please, Please, Please follow this formula that so many others have also used. I works! Thank you to all of you that have provided such great info, VBA employees, attorneys, VSOs, and all others that have the knowledge and shared. ![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7565)

    Submitted/received date: 25 Dec 2023

Initial review date: 27 Dec 2023

    Evidence gathering/review date: 28 Dec 2023

    C&P: 16 Jan & 29 Jan 2024

    PDA date: 21 May 2024

    PFN date: 23 May 2024

    3/6 conditions rated

3/6 deferred (exam request submitted 21 May 2024 & back to evidence gathering 23 May)

    Completed date: still pending

Misc details: After 5 months of waiting, I was partially rated with 20% (effective 23 Feb 2023). Currently waiting on back pay to hit.  I immediately applied for an increase for my 0% scar. It’s painful but for some reason I didn’t get granted the 10% for it. Bummer! I also applied for 6 more issues that line up with undiagnosed multi symptom illness and Pact Act/TERA. My claim went back to initial review on 24 May🥴 I know I’ll have at least another 5 months of waiting, but I’m overjoyed that I got ratings for 3 conditions on the first go with no denials!  Best of luck to everyone else. It’s worth the wait.
