Title: The Benefits of Investing in ETFs: Choosing Between EUR Hedge and Regular Options

Introduction:
Investing in ETFs, such as the FTSE All World, is a popular choice for individuals looking to grow their savings. However, when it comes to selecting the right investment option, confusion can arise, particularly when faced with the decision between EUR Hedge or regular ETFs. This article aims to provide clarity on this matter and explore how AI Legalese Decoder can assist in making informed investment choices.

Understanding EUR Hedge and Regular ETFs:
EUR Hedge ETFs are designed to minimize currency risk by hedging against fluctuations in foreign currency exchange rates, while regular ETFs do not provide this hedging feature. The decision to invest in one option over the other depends on various factors, including long-term savings goals, risk tolerance, and the specific investment landscape.

The Benefits of Regular ETFs for Long-Term Savings:
For many investors, regular ETFs may be the preferred choice for long-term savings for several reasons. Firstly, they offer a straightforward and transparent investment option, providing exposure to global markets without the complexities of currency hedging. This simplicity can be particularly advantageous for those looking for a hands-off approach to investing.

Secondly, regular ETFs are often associated with lower management fees compared to their EUR Hedge counterparts. Over time, these lower fees can significantly impact investment returns, making regular ETFs an attractive option for individuals focused on long-term wealth accumulation.

For stock ETFs the standard advice is not to bother with currency hedging. The volatility of stock ETFs is so high that hedging the currency volatility doesn’t really help with anything.

For bond ETFs things are different and usual recommendaiton is to hedge them to your local currency (or only buy bonds in your local currency to begin with). At least for short and intermediate duration bond ETFs, for long durations the volatility is again so high that hedging might not help much.

It made a lot of sense to hedge late last year because because the Fed took a much more aggressive stance in fighting inflation through interest rates, which brought the dollar to the highest valuation in the past 20 years.

Nowadays, the EURUSD exchange rate is much more in line with typical values and most of the interest rate hikes are likely behind us, so you’re late for that thesis.

The answer to your question is, yes if you believe EURUSD will grow, otherwise don’t because hedging costs.
