**Confusion Over Holiday Entitlement at Work in England**
Hello! I live in England and have been working at my job for the last month (ish), I work part time (contracted 16 hours a week but usually work 25 hours) and study at the same time. This is my first „proper” job and so I’m a little confused on all the details. Recently I booked for a few days holiday to study for exams and today when I went to check how many hours of holiday I have left I saw that I only have 33 hours left despite having over 90 to begin with. I then saw that I have been booked for 66% of my holiday already??! (64 hours). I was never told that I was going to be booked for any holidays and to be honest I’m very upset as this barely gives me a week of my choosing left and I wanted to pick when I actually want to go on holiday and have plans to go on holiday???
I’ve only chosen to book off 16 hours so far so I should still have 81 hours left of holiday. Any advice would be appreciated :((

Yes, legally they can, with sufficient notice. What does your contract say?
> and have been working at my job for the last month (ish), I work part time (contracted 16 hours a week
This doesn’t make sense, if you’ve only been there 1 month on 16 hours pw, you won’t have accrued 90 hours of holiday.
Is he paying for that holiday tho?
Co by any chance? Your best bet is to contact your union if you’re in one (and if you’re not in one, then join one) or just contacting your manager and asking them to reinstate your holidays as you did not agree for them to be issued, and that next time you would appreciate being told in advance if they require you to use your holidays.
