****** just grabbed a
Ever since I began the process I’ve answered every unknown number that calls me. Bonus, I’ve answered every VA call they’ve made to me, down side someone called me yesterday and immediately started asking about my back pain only to find out it was some Medicare scam. I can’t wait for this to be over, I started the process to get help for my stress and anxiety not to exacerbate it.
Was supposed to have a C&P ACE exam over the phone yesterday.
They gave me the number that was supposed to be calling from so I put it in my phone and I guess they called from another number cuz, it was blocked and never even rang they left a voicemail with no number to call.
Called QTC within 5min, They marked me as no-show I was on the phone with him for over an hour.
Did get a reschedule for in person tomorrow.
Well a few things are gonna happen there with that phone call. Good, indifferent, bad.
Once I turn in my claim (next week, 1st ever) I’m done, I’m forgetting about it, until the C&P exam, then forgetting about it. Until I get a letter.
“Anyone seen the keys to the HMMWV’s? Guys in motor T said they are in here sir. I can’t find them, sir.” 😂 This is why I’ve waited 30 yrs.
I get so damned many calls trying to sell me Medicare advantage programs, funeral insurance, and medical items. I just don’t answer anymore. If it doesn’t come up as VA or VES, or someone in my phonebook, they can leave a message. I’ve notified VA of this too.
You were scheduled to have a tele-exam but the computers went down so they called you an hour early to have the exam?? Why didn’t they just wait until your scheduled exam time??
I had a ACE exam scheduled for a Monday they said they might call you for more info so have phone nearby. I’m at work on Friday before and I get a call by the doc who wants to do the interview now. I’m like sure let’s do it, I was anxious all week thinking about the interview so I’m glad it was done early. I studied the DBQ a couple days before so I knew what some questions would be so that really helped me to be calm. I thought he was trying to get me off guard by calling before the scheduled time, just be ready you never know when the VA might call!! I got 50% after the ACE exam
Mine called an hour prior to make sure I could log in to the telehealth appt
This is excellent advice. I’ve had the weirdest encounters with this part of the process. Most recently: received a call early Saturday morning from some random number out of California to schedule an exam. Glad I answered. Got an appt for the following Monday morning at 9. Later that Monday, received an email that someone would be calling me regarding scheduling (all for the same exam). I’m sure the fed ex package with the paperwork will arrive sometime this week. All backwards.
Great advice. Also, if you don’t mind, make sure your phone is set up to accept calls from “unknown name unknown numbers” at least for that day. I have Verizon and my VERA call went directly to voicemail without notifying me. Thankfully I noticed it while in progress and picked up before he hung up.
Good looking, I’ll remember this for my C&P exam May 9th.
Ya my phone detected them once as a scam caller… years ago. I was lucky I checked with VA to see what the deal was with setting up the exam.
What about when you get several spam calls from random states throughout the day, it’s very common to not answer numbers unless they have proper identification. If they are calling people from random numbers then that sounds very suspicious.
At least twice I have answered unknown phone calls with “Tiny’s BBQ and Crematorium, What can we smoke for you today?” Only for it to be met with the stunned silence of one of the VA’s 3rd party vendors calling to schedule a c&p appointment. Followed up by them slowly and cautiously saying I might have the wrong number, I’m so and so with whichever looking for…. I did have one lady tell me now she wanted BBQ *
Yeah they apparently called for my HLR and never left a message. They claimed they called multiple times but I actually looked through my entire call log and don’t see any missed calls so I’m saying that technology is proving that that is bullshit.
wise decision
After reading this I had a number pop up. I answered… it’s good I did, they’d been trying to reach me about my vehicles extended warranty
I had an appointment on a Monday, they called me Saturday at 830 am. I hadn’t submitted any paperwork yet as I was planning on sending a few hours before the appointment. Idk if they ever seen anything I submitted after the phone call
I think we had the same examiner and now I’m 100 p&t
Not true — my c&p examiner was just a phone call no video and i got increased from 70 to 100
I get 10-15 spam calls a day. I’m not answering the phone. And if they say it’s a no show I’ll have documented the number and time they called. That’s their fault not mine. I have a life and daily priorities. Not everybody can just drop what they are doing and do a full on hourlong tele-appointment. If they can’t get the time right, they should be punished because if I don’t get the time right I’m punished. Should work both ways.
This also to see how you handle yourself get it ?
Or just say it w o emotion who the fuq is this
Nah, mine could never be that convenient. 70+ miles on a Tuesday 0800 or I ain’t going
They are contracted doctors. I don’t think they have any knowledge of your rating or even conditions already rated…….
Was supposed to have an ACE exam yesterday. They said they can call anytime from Thursday to Yesterday at 10:30, I missed a call at 10:32 and immediately called QTC. They couldn’t confirm who the caller was and said sometimes the examiner won’t even call. While I was on the phone with QTC, I got another call, but they hung up when I answered it.
Might follow up with QTC today to ensure I don’t get negatively impacted for “missing” the call. No voicemails or anything were left.
I see a denial coming your way because that was not a proper MH exam. They have to see you and witness your visual expressions. Look at it this way, if I was to submit a personal DBQ and the MH doctor just did it over the phone. That would get denied in a second. Now he could have done a video tele conference and that would be acceptable but just over the phone is not. Unless the doctor is going to lie on the DBQ on how he conducted the exam, you will get denied.
