If you’re just trying to salary sacrifice enough of your salary to make sure you don’t hit that higher tax bracket via your salary or the taxable benefits, you want to sacrifice £9,968 (£60,238 – £50,270).

Your salary on paper however would then be £48,227. So your take-home is slightly less. But this guarantees you won’t be paying the 40% on your benefits, rather, 20% instead.

It’s a win two-fold because that salary you’ve sacrificed into your pension will more than likely be used at the 20% tax rate in your retirement, but you probably knew that, I imagine it’s part of the reason why you’re asking this question!

    Yes.

There are two bits here; your gross salary after you sacrifice £xxx, and then your gross including any BIKs.

Your reportable gross will be your contracted gross minus what you sacrifice.  You would then add on any benefits (2043) and that is your reportable gross.

Yes, your benefits in kind will lower your tax brackets.

The math around Salary Sacrifice and SIPP can get a bit complicated. I found this post pretty useful to help figure the math [https://retirefrom8to5.com/2024/04/19/uk-salary-sacrifice-and-sipp/](https://retirefrom8to5.com/2024/04/19/uk-salary-sacrifice-and-sipp/)
