Sub-letting is rarely legal. Especially if you share a house with other tenants. Double check your contract. That aside, assuming it is indeed legal:

Not automatically. The sub-tenant has the same rights and obligations against you as a regular tenant has, unless you specified differently. You’re now technically a landlord indeed. It is always advisable to make your sub-letting contract match the original contract because of this.
