The award is given annually to the owner of a small business comprised of 1-25 employees. The candidate must show the growth or sustainability of their business, have strong relationships with their employees, and be committed to the community. It’s a testament to their hard work and dedication.

The Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce will honor the four finalists with a week of activities between May 6 and 10, culminating in the Small Business Person of the Year Award Luncheon, at which the Chamber will announce the winner. This celebration showcases the importance of small businesses in the local economy.

“We have a great week planned where our members can get together, have some fun, and create new business connections and partnerships. We have several exciting events planned for this year, including a Coffee and Business Networking event followed by a Kick-Off Ribbon Cutting starting at the Chamber office on Monday, May 6. Other events throughout the week include Surprise Patrol Visits to various Chamber member businesses and a Women’s Night Out at the Chamber,” said Lori Wilcoxon, chief operating officer of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce.
