## Seeking Advice on Red Light Fine Review Rejection

Hi, I recently received a red light fine and went through the review process, but unfortunately, it was rejected without providing any additional information. I have analyzed the photo myself, and I see no red light in the image. I am unsure of what steps to take next. Should I consider taking this matter to court, or can anyone else spot the red light in the photo? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you in the turning lane/was the arrow red but main light green perhaps ?

  • No_Ad_2261

Everyone gets done here at this intersection on a right hand turn including myself. The arrow is always on green amber or red.
Maybe too much red elsewhere in the photo.

  • Variation909

Request a review, you’ll almost certainly have the ticket withdrawn. If not, if this is the extent of the evidence they have I can’t see why you wouldn’t prevail in court.

  • Lucky_Tough8823

Not a lawyer but I cannot see a red light. I understand the system is designed to switch the camera on as soon as red light is on however evidence presented to court should show the red light or its a case of he said she said.

  • National_Chef_1772

If that is the states evidence, how has any fine from that intersection been enforced?

  • Unusual-Case-5873

Might be worthwhile getting your own photos from similar angles showing the lights illuminated.

  • blvd119

I hit that intersection every day.

The arrow was red the photo is crap but no green arrow means the light was red and you got done.

  • Inevitable-Rooster-2

How do I add a picture here?

  • CaptainFleshBeard

You say there was no red light in the photo, was there a green light or even a yellow light ?

  • S3D_APK_HACKS_CHEATS

    if it isn’t 🟢GREEN don’t go 👍

You went through on the 🟠AMBER light (at the very back of the pack too)

This is as good as a 🔴RED light (and unfortunately you entered it and clicked over a split second before/AS you were going through

If you’d stopped 🛑 and treated that light as if it was red (like you should have done) there’d be no problem

In your comments your saying ‘you didn’t see red lights’ but the point is that they don’t need to show red. They show green arrows to turn ✓ then they disappear 🫥 so again follow the first rule if it’s not green don’t go 👍

  • AvailableAgency5153

It does appear to be one of those cases where they are just hoping you dont fight it.

  • Awkward_Chard_5025

FYI your Dropbox links have your full name

  • Ok-Motor18523

The red right hand arrow is being hidden by the darkness / contrast of the photo.

    It’s there.

The fact no green is shown, implies it’s either orange or red.

Ask them for higher definition photos, you’re working with bad copies. Google street view shows it having a red amber green turning light.

Your only option is to take it to Court. It’s deemed a safety infringement and they will not withdraw it. Taking it to Court isn’t all that hard

  • downundarob

I see no red or amber filter light, (I also see no green filter light for sake of completeness)
However what I do see is a green circle, which permits all directions to be taken.

I’ve consulted the Google Earth street view image, which is admittedly a year or more old and compared where the arrows should have been.

Problem I see is your photograph is from January, if the system had failed in some way it would (hopefully) be repaired by now.

You may want to subpoena repair records from the appropriate authority for any works done on these lights should you decide to go that way.

Its probably worth while consulting a lawyer that deals with traffic laws, first chat should be free (or at least low cost) for guidance, nobody here is a lawyer, some may have played one on TV tho…

  • Wacky_Ohana

Can you request a better quality image?

  • anonymous_cart

idk why they have to give out such a low res photo that makes it so hard to see anything.

Surely they have a normal clear photo that doesn’t look like it running some distortion filter.

Know issue for this intersection & camera for about a decade.

You could ask a ‘fines clinic’ in your local area. For example [https://pclc.org.au/fines-clinic-at-peninsula-community-legal-centre-gets-a-boost/](https://pclc.org.au/fines-clinic-at-peninsula-community-legal-centre-gets-a-boost/)
