NEBRASKA STATE FAIR ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF BATTLE OF THE BUSINESSES VOLUNTEER COMPETITION

The Nebraska State Fair has recently named three businesses as winners in their respective categories in the annual Battle of the Businesses volunteer competition. This competition revolves around tallying the number of volunteer hours that businesses contribute each year to the Nebraska State Fair. During this event, businesses are categorized into small, medium, and large organizations to ensure a fair competition.

In addition to receiving a trophy, each winner was also presented with a large cookie that could be shared among their employees. The volunteers collectively provided over 14,000 hours of assistance, playing a crucial role in the successful execution of the State Fair this year.

Haley Roush, the fair’s volunteer coordinator, emphasized the significance of this competition, stating that it presents an excellent opportunity for businesses to serve their local communities while engaging in a friendly competition. Furthermore, being actively involved in the Nebraska State Fair allows businesses to establish themselves as essential contributors to the event.

The winners of the Battle of the Businesses volunteer competition for 2023 were CHI Health St. Francis in the large business category, Mars Pet Care in the medium business category, and Summit Real Estate in the small business category. Notably, CHI Health St. Francis and Summit Real Estate are new winners for this year, while Mars Pet Care is a repeat winner, having previously emerged victorious in 2022.

Apart from the recognition, each winner will be presented with an individual trophy to commemorate their achievement. If you are interested in joining the Nebraska State Fair Volunteer program, information on how to get involved is available on the organization’s website, StateFair.org.

Looking ahead, the Nebraska State Fair for the year 2024 has already announced its theme, “All Roads Lead to Fun.” Mark your calendars, as this exciting event is scheduled to take place from August 23 to September 2 in Grand Island.
