Me with dental insurance for the fam about to pay 5hundo for 6 fillings to get redone….. 🤯

  • GalliumGermanium

Just went through this last week myself. The answer is yes if you’re 100% permanent and total. If you are 100% P&T, call your local VA hospital. Mine is over an hour and a half away, so they called and authorized me for community care and they’ll give you your options of dentists in your area that accept the insurance. For me there was only one, so it was an easy choice but he happens to be my old dentist anyway!

  • Consistent-Pilot-535

Can it be free community care dental?

  • Inevitable_Wolf_6886

You can get free dental????? What the hell I never knew this? How? Can you get vision as well

  • Dcifan426

I have to say… dental care has been excellent through the VA. It’s not even close to the army dental. Everyone is polite and they actually want to help! Enjoy it! I sure as hell am!

  • Playful_Street1184

Yes. Read your award packet it spells out what you are qualified for clearly.

  • DVant10denC

Yes you do … Your post reminded me that I have to call my dentist.

  • Few-Feedback4418

I’m a recent hundo. Right now I live in El Paso Texas. I had some dental issues and went to the clinic. They cleaned my teeth, took some x-rays and farmed me out to community care for most of the work. The that I received was pretty good. Very happy with what they provided.

  • Bennehftw

Yep, don’t gotta do anything as far as I can tell. Just go ask for an appointment.

  • RevolutionPristine36

Yes. I reached 100 percent p&t a couple months ago, and immediately called the dental department and scheduled my first checkup, which took place last week. They did all the X-rays and the dentist came in and examined me. Then they scheduled me for my first cleaning in a couple weeks.

    Good luck 👍

  • OG_Q1

You get free dental if you’re 100% or if you have a lower rating and have TMJ or any other oral issue.

  • H0rs3M3n

I did community care w X-rays and a treatment plan but the Phoenix Dental clinic has been rude and unprofessional in all aspects when I call and through the healthe vet messaging portal. Saying they would not authorize the treatment plan procedures and if I want treatment I’d have to make the 2.5 hour drive as a walk in.

  • busephalus

    Does this work with tdiu

  • amishparadiseSC

Yes. I go through community care. Paid for 2 implants, cleanings, crowns.. incredible benefit

  • Lifeabroad86

This is how I found out I was P&T inadvertently

  • OkMortgage6822

I was just recently awarded total and permanent Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability, which increases my disability rate from 80% to 100% as I’m sure you all know. My question is since I am at the 100% rate now, am I entitled to dental benefits as well? Will I be able to receive dental implants now, as I have only so many remaining teeth in my upper jaw and currently have a bridge that consists of my front four teeth, but it does have a prominent crack from the top to the bottom of it and I’m just waiting for it to break entirely any day now…as I was saying, since I am at 100% due to TDIU, can I get dental implants? At what portion will I be responsible to pay? Thank you for all of y’all’s help.

(Can y’a’ll tell I’m from Texas..?
-lol figured the “y’a’ll” gave it away!)

  • Comfortable-Crow-238

    Yep most definitely.👍🏽

It’s not free, you earned it. Congratulation on 100%

  • Spirited_Host_3488

    Yessir !!!!

  • Additional-Ask-5346

With 100% P&T, will VA dental cover dental implants. Worn dentures since 1984 but now my jaw boone has receded so much that it’s very hard to get my dentures secured with denture adhesive.

  • Hupia_Canek

Call and make appointment when you see them ask for community care. It’s closer to your home and convenient. I got extractions at VA and rest of work at community care. If you want implants and you smoke they won’t do it. Everything else fair game.

  • GringoLocito

    Yes. Free.99

  • Old-Pear-4987

Do I get dental for TDIU??

  • hodgepodge910

They also give out free weed to people that are 100%

  • acoker

    Congratulations 🎊🎈🎉

  • AcrobaticEcho5374

    Yes you do ..

  • Grow_money

    Free to you, Yes.

Not free though. Nothing is free.

  • Traditional-Oven4092

Get it done outside through community care, or any health related through community care if you can. If the facility is more than 30 minutes from your house, you’re golden.

  • Present-Ambition6309

Surf on over, tuck into a tube, and let us know, totally! ✌️🤙

  • nov_284

Yes. However, when it comes to trusting a VA employee with a needle or a drill in my mouth? On a scale of one to ten, where 1 is “absolutely not” and 10 is “Absolutely Not!” I’m about a 5.

  • brucescott240

Yes. You have to jump through some hoops to get registered at VA Dental but it is free

  • InterestingSand5651

No, you get publicly funded dental care
