Is it still worth shopping around? Thanks in advance.

Always worth shopping around for a better deal.

“Does it make sense for me to save money and get the same if not better service?”

Yes, the answer is always yes. I shop my cellphone plans yearly, I went from paying $50/month for 5gb to $45/month for 50gb over the last three years.

  • Burgergold

Do you need that much data? You can get 20gb for 34$

  • Embarrassed_Ear2390

Loyalty to corporations doesn’t get you far. Next time they raise prices and you tell them you been a customer for years, see if they will care.

    Always look after your wallet

  • Odemia

    Short answer, yes.

You may have already done this, but is a good idea to first check how much data you are actually using? Shop your actual needs not you current cap.

Black Friday and Christmas shopping season are coming up, there are often deals then. If you see something that meets your needs for <$160 call Telus and say “I am thinking of switching to deal X with provider Y, can you offer me something to keep me with Telus.” worst case they say “no”, and you go ahead and switch. Best case they match or beat the offer.

do u use the data though? if there is a plan that’s $70 for 200gb, is that better in your opinion or worse? like if you only use like 20G a month then yeah you are overpaying by a lot lol

  • jason4776892

just keep in mind a lot of the cheaper deals people mention on here are from 2nd tier carriers like fido koodo virginetc

The big 3 Telus roger bell ones are about what your current deal is

  • ARAR1

Seems like a reasonable deal for Canada if you need 100GB.

  • gamefixated

If you don’t need that much data, you can do much better. I have Roger’s Infinite 20G Canada $33 for 1st line, $7 for each additional line with shared data. I think the Canada/US plan was $5 more. Black Friday deal. Details https://redd.it/z4k9jb
