NSW Small Business Month Festival/Events
Council is pleased to be working with the NSW Government and the Yass Valley Business Chamber to run the 2023 Small Business Month program throughout the month of October.
This yearÔÇÖs program will see nine events take place across the Yass Valley Region, encouraging small businesses to learn about valuable industry skills and lessons that will help them navigate their own journey within their industries.
The program is a great opportunity for the community to show their support of our local small businesses, and for the businesses themselves to connect and collaborate with each other to learn and grow their enterprises.
Local chambers, industry associations, not-for-profits, large businesses, and all levels of government will be coming together to provide invaluable workshops and opportunities.
Yass Valley Council Community and Economic Manager, Georgia Patmore said ÔÇ£this program provides our community with a chance to celebrate our small businesses and allow them to learn and grow through the use of business workshops.ÔÇØ
ÔÇ£WeÔÇÖve organised nine events in total this year, all hosted within many of the Yass ValleyÔÇÖs esteemed businesses as a way to connect and collaborate with each other,ÔÇØ Ms Patmore said.
Yass Valley Business Chamber President, Jack Walker said the NSW Business Month, as a whole, was a ÔÇÿrecognition of the critical function that small businesses playÔÇÖ.
ÔÇ£The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman recently released figures showing that small business makes up 97.5% of AustraliaÔÇÖs 2.5 million businesses. It is fair to say that small business is not just important, it is the ÔÇÿlife bloodÔÇÖ of the NSW and Australian economy,ÔÇØ Mr Walker said.
ÔÇ£This year Yass Valley Business Chamber and Yass Valley Council have again partnered to host a range of Small Business Month events delivered by local experts that are aimed at helping owners, managers and employees to improve their skills and strengthen their business.ÔÇØ
These FREE events are for all businesses located within the Yass Valley Region and registration is required for all of them.
