More awards were distributed, with Daisy Nayeli Alcazar winning the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for her venture, La Pale Frozen Fruit Bar LLC, also based in Brownsville. Daniel Perez Rodriguez of Malfunction Junction Automotive LLC in Sandia, Texas, was recognized with the Rural-Owned Small Business of the Year award. Finally, Marty McPies LLC, owned by Martin Rubio Flores in Corpus Christi, was celebrated as the Veteran-Owned Business of the Year.
