NCET Expo: Supporting Nevada’s Entrepreneurs
From NevadaÔÇÖs beautiful scenic lands to our bustling cities and culture-rich rural towns, there are a lot of reasons IÔÇÖm proud to call the Silver State home. IÔÇÖm also proud that Nevada is consistently rated as one of the best places to start a business, and Northern Nevada is no exception. NevadaÔÇÖs entrepreneurs pay no corporate income taxes, personal income taxes, franchise taxes, or inventory taxes. Add that to our relatively low cost of living and supportive small business ecosystem, and the odds continue to be in entrepreneursÔÇÖ favor.
New business applications continue to surge across the country ÔÇô and Nevada leads the way! In 2022, there were 313,000 registered small businesses ÔÇô a number that represents 99% of all businesses in Nevada and 42% of our stateÔÇÖs workforce.
By supporting NevadaÔÇÖs entrepreneur ecosystem, we fuel local economies, build strong communities, and create jobs that reflect the culture of the neighborhoods where they are located.
Entrepreneurs who seek knowledge and build their network of trusted advisors are the ones who will survive the challenges of starting and growing a business because these are the two most powerful tools in business.
ThatÔÇÖs exactly why I encourage all entrepreneurs to attend the 17th Annual NCET Small Business Expo happening on September 29. The guidance and information at this event are second to none.
Attendees to the Expo will gain valuable new insights thanks to the informal opportunity for one-on-one conversations and networking. These discussions can spark new ideas, open doors to new partnerships, or provide the resources needed to turn an entrepreneurial dream into a reality.
This year, organizers expect more than 1,000 attendees for the event held at the Reno Public Market from 11 AM ÔÇô 6 PM. The event, the resources, the networking ÔÇô itÔÇÖs completely FREE.
Just give your business card at the door.
As NevadaÔÇÖs Lieutenant Governor and former City Councilman in Las Vegas, I continue to be inspired by the small business owners in our state. IÔÇÖve seen the courage, resolve, and passion it takes to start a business. However, it can also be frustrating and confusing. The Lieutenant GovernorÔÇÖs Office of Small Business Advocacy (www.OSBANV.com) helps NevadaÔÇÖs entrepreneurs navigate complex government agencies and resolves issues with licensing and regulations in the state. I encourage small business owners to reach out to our team for help and guidance.
I proudly support the NCET Small Business Expo and the important role NCET plays in helping Northern Nevada entrepreneurs develop their skills and network.
