Financial Help Available for Yreka Small Business Owners During Highway Renovation
Yreka small business owners, whose businesses are losing money during the renovation of Highway 3, could get financial help soon. They can apply for part of a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant, intended “to provide assistance for those businesses impacted by the Main Street renovation,” according to the Yreka Small Business Development Center.
The renovation project, led by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), began this summer with a budget of $78 million. The plan is to rebuild and improve a stretch of road from near Walmart at Fort Jones Road to the Yreka Truck Stop on Montague Road. Workers will pave roads, build new sidewalks, add new crosswalks, planters, and lighting, as outlined by Caltrans.
As of September 20, the renovation crews have reached areas near the intersection of Highway 3 and Oberlin Road, according to the Small Business Development Center. However, Caltrans expects to finish the project next summer (2024).
To help businesses affected by the renovation, a grant program has been established. So far, no business owners have received grant money, but the Yreka Small Business Development Center encourages eligible businesses to have their documentation ready. This includes their 2022 tax returns, payroll register, year-to-date income statements, 2022 income statements, valid SAM.gov registration, valid Yreka business license, and a brief summary of how the business suffered due to the construction project.
If businesses meet the criteria, they can apply for aid through Siskiyou Economic Development.
How AI legalese decoder Can Help
Navigating through the grant application process and the legal documentation involved can be challenging for small business owners. This is where the AI legalese decoder can be instrumental in facilitating the process.
The AI legalese decoder is an advanced technology tool that can analyze legal texts and translate them into plain language, making them easier to understand for non-legal professionals. By using the decoder, small business owners can quickly grasp the requirements and instructions provided by the grant application, ensuring they submit accurate and complete documentation.
Additionally, the AI legalese decoder can assist in drafting the brief summary of how a business has suffered due to the construction project. It can help small business owners convey their experiences and financial losses in a clear and persuasive manner, maximizing their chances of receiving financial assistance.
Overall, the AI legalese decoder simplifies the complex legal language associated with grant applications, empowering small business owners to navigate the process more effectively and potentially access the financial support they need during the Highway 3 renovation.
