AI Legalese Decoder: Revolutionizing the Understanding and Fairness of Australia’s Worst Paying Jobs

Introduction:

In a groundbreaking revelation, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has recently disclosed a list of the country’s most underpaid professions. Topping the list at an alarming mere $12,780 per year in earnings are care workers/personal carers. These dedicated individuals, providing invaluable support to vulnerable members of society, are unfortunately subject to unacceptably low wages. However, amidst this disheartening scenario, the emergence of AI Legalese Decoder offers a glimmer of hope, promising a transformative solution to rectify this issue and ensure fair compensation for these essential roles.

The Plight of Care Workers/Personal Carers:

Care workers/personal carers play a pivotal role in society, dedicating their lives to caring for the elderly, disabled, or sick individuals who rely heavily on their assistance. Number 10 on the lowest paid profession list:
    Model – $25,576

I sleep well at night knowing that IÔÇÖm not in any danger here.

  • EpicBattleAxe

They need to specify if they are FT or PT, Cas workers.

The highest paid are always working FT 40 – 60hr weeks and the lowest paid are far more likely PT or casual working 15hrs P/W as they have other commitments.

  • Next_Crew_5613

    >5. Blacksmith – $21,707

Next year I’m filing my taxes as an alchemist so I can read an article about how much alchemists earn. This list is pretty much useless

  • Anachronism59

In other news people who drive further pay more for fuel, those who live in big houses have higher energy costs, and those without kids pay less for child care.

  • BobbyDigial

    Crosswalk attendedant 22k

2 hours a day, 5 days a week for 40 weeks. Works out to be $55ph! Not bad at all

Oh shit males get paid more. 25k!.. what kind of old school bullshit is that!

  • yet-another-username

Always find it funny how inaccurate these lists of ‘highest paid’ professions are. Assuming they’re going by the occupation listed with ATO, it’s no wonder given that terrible list.

  • BeachHut9

The list deliberately omitted federal politicians and bank CEOs on purpose?

  • Different-Pea-212

I’m a nurse working in aged care – I can tell you that personal carers are not getting 12k a year. Maybe if they only work one day? They didn’t even specific if it’s casual/PT/FT.

Most of the carers I work with are on around 55k a year for full time hours and that pay grade has just been increased by the government – they got a 25% pay increase (so did nurses).

To put that in perspective my colleagues who are carers have gone from $26 an hour full time to $32 an hour full time for Mon-Fri work. It’s more on weekends. I used to be a carer – it’s well deserved!

  • totallynotalt345

This is vastly ÔÇ£fakeÔÇØ data, context is everything.

There are 2.7 million ÔÇ£carersÔÇØ in Australia. A large amount are getting Centrelink as itÔÇÖs ÔÇ£their jobÔÇØ so they will not be submitting tax returns.

If they have any extra money, like from shares, theyÔÇÖd file a tax return. ItÔÇÖs not going to be a huge amount otherwise they wouldnÔÇÖt get Centrelink.

Paid carers will make a lot more but average dragged way down by the low ones.

    https://australiancarersguide.com.au/carer-payments/

So on and so forth for a lot of jobs listed. If you make $30k a year working 1 day a week youÔÇÖre not poor on struggle st youÔÇÖve obviously got a good setup etc.

  • Dr_Delibird7

Fast food cook is also skewed because of the age to pay gap. Once you’re over 21 you stop getting payed peanuts. Most fast food places struggle to get day staff so if you are available enough it doesn’t matter if you are FT, PT or casual you will get the hours (especially so if you actually put in the work). I’m 26 casual and rarely work less than 25hrs in a week (usually close to if not over 30) with an hourly rate of just over $30.

Obviously not in contention for any “highest paid” lists BUT they almost certainly aren’t even looking at the average potential income, this is some lowball shift lmao.

  • caispe

Hairdresser is a horrible earn thatÔÇÖs for sure

  • whooyeah

Why do women get paid more than men for being a fast food cook. This sort of inequality needs to stop.

  • Timetogoout

Pretty sure a surgeon works more hours than a crosswalk attendant…

  • erednay

CEOs/directors are the smart ones in that highest paid list. Paying themselves just below $180k and receiving the rest of their compensation in options and other benefits.

  • noxobscurus

As someone who teaches at uni in the business and law faculties – most tutors I’ve met teach as a side gig. I know of one who is a barrister but teaches JD at night to make a bit of extra money to fund his hobbies.

Pay is pretty slim pickings these days though cause universities are wising up and finally offering more teaching and marking allocations to more deserving people (like PhD students).

  • MarquisDePique

    Another misuse of data.
