Currently hitting refresh at least once every 30 minutes. Had a call scheduled with VERA today that they blew off. Have another scheduled for the 29th but I am hoping that I will have an answer by then.
Edit 2/28: all claims combined into two, both approved. Put me up another 10%. The battle wages on
Just got my update an hour ago. 16 years and 5 claims.
“Evidence we have used to grant permanent and total disability status: You have been evaluated with a 100 percent evaluation for your service connected disabilities and these conditions do not show that there is a possibility of improvement.”
We are in tears, and it is perfect as I have been unemployed for 6 months and just took a much lower paying job since I am physically unable to work in my career field anymore.
Fights over. I feel like a huge weight is lifted.
* Type of claim: Fully Developed, including 2 increases, and 7 new items

* HLR- complete 19 October
* Supplemental claim filed 23 October 23
* Supplemental claim closed 23 Feb 24
So as stated below and then: I filed a HLR and was told that I had to file a Supplemental claim turned in by 24 October, I turned it in 23 October and went to another doctor’s appointment in November. I am kinds thankful because the doc at this appointment did say that the original appointment while did diagnose me with Sinusitis and Rhinitis they did not say it was Chronic. Which it is and they proved it with this appointment. Thankfully. Supplemental claim was closed 23 Feb 24 with 30% given for my Chronic Sinusitis and an additional 10% given for Chronic Rhinitis. (The 2 claims that had been omitted) Taking me to 84% total which of course is rounded down to 80%. But from 30% to 80%? I am a happy camper. However they only back paid me to 23 October 23. So my next step is to call VERA to see what can be done to get back paid to the original file date. Wish me luck!!! And keep the faith my friends!!!
Went from 30% to 70%. They completely left off 2 claims which would fall under the Pact Act and did not address them at all, neither approving or denying. Nothing. I call the day the case closed and was told they submitted a supplemental claim for me. No updates since. Had a VERA appointment today and she was helpful. She looked into it and no activity what so ever on it. Directed me to make a personal statement reference the omission and to submit a HLR. So just got through working on them will get them turned in sometime this week. Wish me luck!!
100% P&T at 22y/o. NovemberÔÇÖs claim finally coming through.

Misc: Two issues (IBS and rhinitis) granted on 2/18/24, with some MH stuff denied and tinnitus deferred. IBS backdated to ITF, while rhinitis was backdated a year earlier due to PACT Act. Also added dependents on 2/18, which was approved the same day.
Submitted new supplementals for MH and OSA on 2/21; they apparently didn’t receive my non-VA treatment records for MH and my OSA claim was pretty weak initially, so I am resubmitting with a buddy letter and some other lay statements. If they deny again, I’ll attempt again as secondary to my rhinitis. Tinnitus claim has returned to gathering evidence and is back with vendor to schedule another C&P.
Got out in 2008. Didn’t file till 2011. Denied multiple claims but didn’t know what I was doing and bad advice from TVC. Got 40%rating in 2013 30% for ptsd and 10% for back pain. I appealed and was denied. Instead of researching and refiling, I sat on it for a decade. Filed for increases in 2022 with Veterans Own using ree medical. in 2023 i was Approved for ptsd increase from 30 to 70%. Increased back from 10 to 40%. Added previously denied back pain for 20% in one hip. Added previously denied back pain for 10% other hip. So now I am at a 90% rating. Now it’s 2024. This month i went back to TVC to try again. I am working now to add multiple other claims I didn’t know I could. Added claims for Chronic Rhinisitus, Chronic Sinusitis, Gerd, Asthma, Tinnitus, Hemmeroids. Multiple are pact act claims and I have been treated for the conditions in and out of military. So I should get some added without issue. Probably still gunna be a struggle for months. Also filed for an appeal to change effective dates of two previously denied claims. which would of changed my 40% to a 60% rating in 2013. Expect a fight to get through these. May find a lawyer to help with appeals or go to private practice doctors for nexus letters. Been going to the VA for years since I got out but the care is questionable. Long waits for appts. Limited time for discussions. not much personal care. New doctors, wanting to try the same old treatments.┬á
Gunna keep fighting though.

*Asking for some advice as well* I have a claim for an increase and a supplemental opened in December, that they closed last week because I asked to schedule for a different day for C&P since I was getting an operation. They then sent me a letter stating I asked for the supplemental to be canceled on December 28th (which did not happen and they sent me a form to send back). If you have any advice on what to do next for that claim, I would love any help lol. Thanks!

Hundo Club after 5 years
Last Tuesday i saw this link https://waitwhile.com/locations/droc posted here for informal conference scheduling so i gave it a try since some of you are having luck getting a decision earlier than the usual HLR timeline. I have an HLR for chronic sinusitis and GAD that was filled 1/9/24. I made an appointment for Friday last week and they called my lawyer around 10am. I checked eBenefits first thing this morning since there was no movement during the weekend and I was shocked to see that my chronic sinusitis was finally granted with a rating of 30%. I have been sitting at 92% for a while and that 30% got me in the 100% P&T club. They found a DTA with my GAD claim so im not quite done yet. If i can get that approved it would make my effective date even further back. Really thankful for this sub for all the knowledge. Keep fighting ladies and gents.
