There are still work incentives with DAC. Your benefits arent affected until you make more than like 1400 per month. Its the same as Social Security Benefits. There is also Trial Work Period and Ticket to Work. You are probably eligible for an ABLE account as well. Thats worth having for the hell of it, because you can. You can have up to $100,000 in savings. Its free to open, and you do need a bank account to transfer funds initially, as long as you get social security or medicaid you are probably eligible. You cant spend the money on just anything, but its still a great way to put back money without Social Security or Medicaid counting your assets. Say you needed to save money for a car and Medicaid only allows $2000 in assets, the ABLE account allows you save money like a Trust and it is not counted toward the asset limit set by Medicaid. All the other things you can spend your money on is still pretty fair. Like an expensive vacation or computer or furniture or clothing. Your DAC is good till you die though, even after your parents are gone.

You can move out. You can have kids if you can afford to on your income and are healthy enough to help parent them. Don’t get married or you will lose your benefit.

The only thing affected by dac is marriage. If you have kids, they canÔÇÖt get auxiliary benefits under most circumstances.

My adult son receives disability for himself and draws on his fathers. He lives on his own.

There’s a small possibility that your Dad’s spouse may be collecting child in care benefits. These would likely be taken away if you moved out. Your own benefits are not affected by you moving out though.
