If I were you I would contemplating going to IG if your pay still isn’t resolved, nine months is a long time. Your boss rep (if you’re army) may also be able to assist you with this as well.
Any good leader worth their salt would ensure their memberÔÇÖs finance is squared away so they can focus on mission.
Use the open door policy. Not sure why it “wouldn’t be good for anyone”?
If you’re struggling, take it up higher. 9 months is too long to have a known issue still be unresolved. If your CoC hasn’t been able to help you, then they should either being going up higher for you or be held accountable for letting it fester.
Fun fact, if you wait too long, they can’t back pay you. I’m not sure but I think that’s at about 1 year. Regardless, pay issues are supposed to be fixed within at most 3 months so the fact that it’s been 9 without any headway… Get ’em.
If you’re afraid of reprisal, write down the timeline of when you discovered the issue, who you informed, what they did, etc. Personally, I’d take that to your lowest level supervisor (navy guy here) and let them take it up themselves or pass it up. If you get roadblocked, do it yourself. Anyone that wants to punish you for fixing your pay when they could have helped, should also be brought up. I doubt it will come to that. Don’t go after them but if there is reprisal, that open door policy still exists.
