Science Venture Studio Announces Spring 2024 Cohort of Commercialization Fellows

The Science Venture Studio at Winrock International is excited to announce that applications are now open for its spring 2024 cohort of commercialization fellows. This program serves as a valuable opportunity for advanced senior or graduate students, as it allows them to gain hands-on experience in the field of commercialization and technology transfer.

As a commercialization fellow, participants will have the chance to work alongside the Science Venture Studio team for 20 hours per week. Their main responsibility will be assisting a company in preparing and submitting a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) proposal. This experience will provide fellows with valuable insight into the process of securing non-dilutive federal funding for science and technology-based startups.

Each fellow will be paired with a Science Venture Studio client company throughout the duration of a semester. Their tasks will include conducting market research, engaging in customer discovery, and fulfilling other duties necessary for achieving the milestones outlined by the companies. By actively participating in these activities, fellows will contribute to the successful development of the small business proposals.

In order to be considered for this opportunity, interested individuals must submit their applications by November 1. The internship will commence in January 2024 and will conclude in May 2024. For those selected, a stipend of $5,000 will be provided. The selection process will involve interviews conducted on November 2-3.
