The U.S. Small Business Administration Eastern Pennsylvania District Office is on the lookout for small businesses that have demonstrated exceptional innovation, growth, community engagement, or resilience. These businesses will be put in the spotlight for the 2024 National and District Small Business Week Awards, which includes the prestigious annual Small Business Person of the Year Award.
Self-nominations are strongly encouraged and will be accepted for consideration. The annual event aims to recognize the significant contributions of small businesses across the nation. Last yearÔÇÖs winners came from diverse locations such as Allentown, Danville, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Reading, and Wayne, representing various industries including business services, food, health, IT, manufacturing, and retail.
It’s important to note that the nominated business should have been in operation for a minimum of three years prior to being nominated. The SBA has provided dedicated websites where businesses can download nomination forms and find information about the Eastern Pennsylvania District nomination guidelines and district awards categories. Moreover, SBAÔÇÖs Resource Partners are available to offer assistance, at no cost, in writing a compelling nomination.
The available categories for the Eastern Pennsylvania District include the Small Business Person of the Year, Small Business Exporter, Entrepreneurial Success of the Year, Family-Owned Small Business of the Year, Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year, Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year, Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year, and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
The deadline to submit a nomination is 4 p.m. on December 7. For any inquiries or questions, businesses can contact the Public Information Officer Sonia Smith at [email protected].
