The Tech radio network, previously operated locally by Virginia Tech Sports Properties on behalf of Learfield, will be taken over by Playfly Sports Properties starting next summer. Playfly Sports Properties is known for holding the multimedia rights of esteemed educational institutions such as Virginia, LSU, and Southern Cal.

With this collaboration, Virginia Tech will be able to access Playfly Sports Properties’ broad offering of data-driven solutions, providing them with diverse streams of revenue. Playfly Sports Properties President, Christy Hedgpeth, expressed her excitement about the partnership, stating “Our broad offering of data-driven solutions will enable Virginia Tech to tap into diverse streams of revenue,” in a Tech news release.

Virginia Tech’s Ryan Fishback and Alberto Orso emerged victorious with a 6-2, 6-2 win against Duke’s Andrew Zhang and Michael Heller in the round of 16 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Men’s All-American Championships, held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Likewise, Inaki Montes and James Hopper from UVa defeated the second-seeded Michigan State duo of Max Sheldon and Ozan Baris with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 10-8.

Ozan Baris, however, was able to secure a win against Ryan Fishback in the round of 32 of the singles tournament with a score of 6-2, 6-1. In other matchups, UVa’s Chris Rodesch triumphed over SMU’s Adam Neff with a score of 7-6, 6-4, and Inaki Montes defeated Wake Forest’s Luciano Tacchi with a score of 6-4, 6-2.

In the ITA Women’s All-American Championships, UVa’s Annabelle Xu and Melodie Collard went head-to-head against Alabama’s Loudmilla Bencheikh and Anne Marie Hiser in the round of 16 held in Cary, North Carolina. UVa’s duo secured the win after a tough match, with a score of 2-6, 6-4, 10-4.

Eileen Albers led the host Highlanders (7-4-2, 3-0-1 Big South) to victory with two goals in their match against UNC Asheville on Wednesday.

Helen Otteni was the star of the show, scoring twice and leading the host Generals (7-0-3, 3-0-1 ODAC) to a resounding win over Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday.

Weyimi Agbeyegbe’s stellar performance propelled the visiting Generals (6-2-3, 4-1 ODAC) to a narrow victory against Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday, as she scored two goals.

Gavin Young, Benjamin Simister, and Tanner Gonder showcased their talent, scoring one goal each to lead the visiting Knights (7-2-3, 1-0-1 USA South) to a victory over Greensboro on Wednesday.

Maddy Duggleby and Ally Hoffmann were the heroes for the visiting Generals (5-4, 2-0 ODAC), both scoring a goal and securing a win against Sweet Briar on Wednesday.
