Kalamazoo to Host Fifth Annual Black Business Expo

KALAMAZOO, MI ÔÇö A chance to network and spotlight local Black entrepreneurs, the fifth annual Black Business Expo will take place next weekend in Kalamazoo. Hosted by Black Wall Street Kalamazoo, the free event will feature over 60 area businesses and organizations. It will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Kalamazoo Expo Center, 2900 Lake St.

Panel Discussion with Prominent Black Entrepreneurs

A panel discussion featuring five Kalamazoo-area Black entrepreneurs will begin an hour prior to the rest of the expo, at noon. The panel will be hosted by Demarra West, founder of Be Well Beautiful Woman. The featured panelists include Daniel J. May, owner of Dabney & Co., Kim Guess, owner of Xperience by LuXury Escapes, Philip E. Hamilton, attorney at Hamilton Law, and Marissa Harrington, actor and associate broker/property manager with The Harrington Team.

The panelists will share their experiences from their entrepreneurial journeys and provide valuable tips for success. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the session.

In addition to the panel discussion, the Black Business Expo will feature a business pitch competition at 2 p.m. and a fascinating fashion runway at 4 p.m. These activities aim to showcase the talent and creativity of Black entrepreneurs in the area.
