Indiana Economic Development Corp. Awards $500,000 to 16 Community-Led Projects

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. (IEDC) has launched a new pilot program, the Community Collaboration Fund (CCF), and has awarded $500,000 to 16 community-led projects. The aim of the fund is to support grassroots efforts that promote entrepreneurial education and connections across Indiana, with a particular focus on underrepresented individuals.

Support for Underrepresented Hoosiers

The CCF is focused on providing support to underrepresented communities in Indiana, including rural, women, minority, and veteran entrepreneurs. The 16 funded projects cover a range of scope and provide various forms of support such as startup accelerators, pitch competitions, coaching and education programs, mentorship opportunities, and assistance with navigating the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

He highlighted that Indiana has been recognized as the best state in the U.S. to start a business and emphasized the importance of resources like the Community Collaboration Fund in ensuring the continued success of innovators statewide.

The CCF requires projects to be either new initiatives or expansions of existing services. The IEDC also prioritized collaborations between at least two support organizations, the development of metrics and budgets, and completion within nine months of receiving funds.

• $40,000 to Start and Exit Pitch Competition by Start Fort Wayne
• $32,400 to KESO Collab Entrepreneur Navigator by Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation
• $40,000 to Capital Coaching in North Central Indiana by CDFI Friendly South Bend
• $10,000 to Fueling Women Entrepreneurship Workshop Series by Momentum Entrepreneurship Hub

Central Indiana:

• $28,000 to Improving Storytelling in Rural Indiana by Launch Fishers
• $39,833 to INax: ESO Acceleration Support by MatchBOX Coworking Studio
• $30,000 to Two Degrees Startup Accelerator by Startup Sprint
• $10,000 to Wabash Valley Lemonade Day by Chances and Services for Youth

Southern Indiana:

• $40,000 to Lean Startup Academy & Pitch by Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce
• $5,500 to Georgetown Business Roundtables by Destination Georgetown
• $40,000 to SPARK Jackson County by Jackson County Chamber
• $40,000 to Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Southeast Indiana by Maker13 & The Maker Mobile Inc.
