Really frustrated, waited over a week for a response. Was informed would be notified if they will or will not take the case. I did find a lawyer, and this lawyer more responsive and on their A game. Davenport we were referred to you by another attorney. Sadly… they spoke too highly of your firm. Ty for wasting over a week.
We needed to find an attorney to represent us in an unemployment case against the SD Department of Labor. . It was not easy finding an attorney to take this case as it is not considered a big money-maker for the law firm – which I heard from at least five different law firms. Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith, was recommended to me so I called the office and was given the name and email for Eric. He listened to the facts of the case and offered to look at the paperwork and give me an estimate of the cost.
Eric not only read up on similar cases but also made sure we were prepared for the hearing. He met with each one of the witnesses called to testify and prepared us for the hearing. During the hearing it was obvious that he was totally prepared for this case. He was very respectful to the other attorney and the judge but it was clear he took charge of the hearing.
The staff at Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith was polite, cordial and answered all my questions in a timely manner. I have great confidence, trust and respect for Eric and this firm.
I had never needed an attorney before and found myself in a situation with my business where I knew it was beyond my scope. I was referred to Ashley Blake with Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith, LLP. I knew after our first phone call I had made the right call. Ashley immediately put my mind at ease. This was not a situation that anyone looks forward to, and frankly was quite scary for me. Ashley impressed me with her professionalism, and just to know that someone had my back made it that much easier. She took the stress off of me! Ashley was great about keeping me updated with developments and made it all easy to understand. If you ever find yourself in a situation that you do need an attorney, I would not hesitate to recommend Ashley Blake or Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith, LLP.
Over the last 40 years I have owned several business with that comes the need for attorneys. Ten years ago I hired Mr. Mitch Peterson whom I’ve felt was first and foremost a devoted family man with values and ideals that are essential in doing a great job for his clients in an age where money seams to dictate loyalty. I believe as in life a smart person tries to wrap themselves with quality, aggressive, organized, passionate and knowledgeable people or a great team. I believe Mr. Mitch Peterson and the rest of the firm at Davenport , Evans, Hurwitz & Smith, LLP in Sioux Falls S.D. is who I will call .
