VWCE is fine for most Europeans, but as a Dutchie you should realize that the fund has ‘dividendlek’ (dividend leakage), meaning you cant get any dividend tax back through your ‘belastingaangifte’. Because of this, you are likely better off with an indexfund that does not have dividendlek, like Northern Trust funds via one of the big banks, Rabo/ING/ABN.

http://www.indexfondsenvergelijken.nl is a great resource to check your expected result per fund and broker.

Example 500 eur per month for 20 years:

VWCE via DeGiro: end result 137K

    NT via bank: 143K.

It looks like DeGiro has super cheap fees but dividendlek will cost you way too much.

    I am also in NL.

You may consider Trading 212. No transaction cost, supports fractional shares. Much cheaper than banks or DeGiro. I also use Interactive Brokers, but the interface is not for noobs, and there are transaction costs.

Remember, one-time transaction costs are not so important if you execute a buy-and-hold investment strategy.
