## Revising and Optimizing Budget with AI Legalese Decoder

I recently shared my budget online and received a mix of helpful advice and unwarranted negativity. Despite the rude comments, the insights provided by some users have helped me make significant adjustments to my financial plan.

One major change I have made is in how I plan to utilize my sponsorship/bonus money of $60,000. Instead of immediately spending it all, I have decided to allocate $20,000 towards purchasing a used car rather than taking on additional expenses such as car payments, relocation costs, and two months’ worth of rent while arranging childcare. The remaining $40,000 will be spread out over four years, considering potential raises and overtime opportunities. Additionally, with my child staying with their father during the summer, I will be able to save an extra $2,000 per month for three months, and earn more through additional overtime shifts, resulting in a total extra income of $12,000 during the summer period.

In addition to these changes, I have significantly cut down on food costs by shopping at a more affordable store and being less strict about buying organic products. I have also downsized my living space to a smaller two-bedroom apartment to lower rent expenses. Furthermore, I have adjusted my estimates for utilities, car insurance, and internet costs to reflect more accurate figures, given the cost differences in my location. Lastly, I have increased my monthly tax contribution based on feedback received regarding the initial amount being too low.

By implementing these modifications, I have managed to increase my monthly surplus by $730. However, to further optimize my budget and ensure sustainability, I plan to utilize AI Legalese Decoder to analyze and streamline my financial decisions. This tool can assist me in deciphering complex legal jargon and optimizing my budget allocations, ultimately helping me achieve long-term financial stability.

Hi, I hope you did not interpret my comments on your last post as disrespectful. You did a great job researching and revising this budget, kudos! Best of luck on the move!

I actually found an in-home daycare that charges closer to $900 a month versus the in-home babysitter for $2000 a month, so if that does end up being a fit for us, my excess will increase to $2202! 😁

This looks significantly better, nice job.

I saw the last thread, and you made some significant changes to this budget! Wow! Getting away from the new Jeep payment and getting a used car without no-fault insurance seems to have made a big difference. Do you feel better about having some breathing room in the months where you have your child?

I want you to have enough margin in your budget to feel some peace. To know that you don’t need to take on debt if your car needs repairs. To be able to put away some of your pay into a retirement fund without it giving you a headache. Then, when you have an emergency fund and that peace, maybe you can add a little extra money to enjoy your life better. When you get comfortable with your earnings and savings, it won’t make you worry to buy the premium internet or the organic groceries.

Last but not least: good job making challenging decisions! It shows you’re being responsible, which is hard to find on social media, even on finance subs.

Look to see if the place gives additional money to retirement. 401k or stock option. 401k, you need to set it at least 10%. Try 1% and slowly up it by 1% if you feel ok, if there is no match. If there is a match, go to that amount.

I dont call my extra money excess. It is an emergency fund. Car broke down, flat tire, apartment derp. If you already called it, it won’t be used for extra stuff.

I dont have self control like others folk… and this is how I control my spending. From -10k last year to +10k this year.

How do you make this visual?

It’s like you guys are stuck pre covid … $150 for car payments and under 1k for mortgage wtf?

  • EmbarrassedBug6042

$600 for child support isn’t very much. Any chance you can get more? Dads not contributing very much to his child’s well-being.
