## Regularly Shopping for Better Phone Plans

It is often discussed how important it is to shop around for insurance, including home owners, on a regular basis. However, one area that is sometimes overlooked is the need to regularly review and compare cell phone plans. By taking the time to explore different options, you may be able to find significant savings and benefits that you were not aware of.

### Checking with Membership Stores like Sams or Costco

If you are a member of stores like Sams or Costco, it is worth checking with them to see if they offer any special deals or discounts on cell phone plans. These stores may have partnerships with major carriers that could result in substantial savings for you.

### Personal Experience with Switching Providers

Take for example a personal experience where someone was paying $230 a month for 5 lines with Verizon. By exploring options at Costco and considering switching to AT&T, they were able to secure a variety of discounts and incentives. This included a percentage discount per line for work, an additional discount for 3 years, an auto pay discount, and adjustments to their plan tiers. Additionally, they received a Costco gift card and free iPhones through a trade-in offer.

### Using AI Legalese Decoder to Simplify the Process

One helpful tool in navigating the fine print and legal jargon that often comes with comparing phone plans is AI Legalese Decoder. This tool can help you easily understand the terms and conditions of different plans, making it simpler to compare options and make informed decisions.

### The Importance of Shopping Around

It is vital to continually shop around for phone plans, regardless of which provider you are currently with. By exploring options with T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, as well as checking with stores like Sams and Costco, you can potentially find better deals and save money. Don’t hesitate to explore different options, as the savings can be significant. Just like in the example above, where a bill was reduced by almost $100 a month, there are ample opportunities to find better deals and lower costs.

We pay $15/phone with mint mobile and have been really happy. We brought our own phones and just buy slightly older iPhones that are refurbished. My husband gets a phone through work every two years and we could use those for personal use after he upgrades with work

We pay $25/month with visible and have since the pandemic. I’ll likely never go back to a regular “main” carrier. Unlimited everything for $25/month per line is amazing.

Ya i finally left verizon and got a nice deal to switch with some local company (spectrum).

My bill right now is like 6 bucks for two lines unlimited, and its been perfect quality wise. Score!

I wish I could but all other providers suck where I work and live. Im stuck with Verizon 😞

If you are finding large discounts when switching to a different phone plan, it is likely that one of the following is true:

    * You are paying far about the minimum competitive rate, so there are numerous lower cost options
    * Service/quality/options are not the same
    * It is temporary promotional rate

I used WhistleOut to find my phone plan. It’s $14/month without contract. That $14/month gives me access to other discounts, such as 60% discount on Internet (500Mbps for $40) and being able to buy a Galaxy S23 for $200 (without contract). I could have paid less than $14 with T-mobile network, but I wanted the Verizon network, as I find it has the best service in my area. Note that I said “Verizon network”, not Verizon. There are options that use the same network and towers as Verizon/T-Mobile/AT&T and have the same service, but have a different brand name and are lower cost.

You need to own the phone outright to do it easily. We do and it’s worth evaluating every year I’d say.

I just switched to AT&T, too, paid off my iPhone 14 Pro Max from another carrier, got a 15 Pro Max and a 14 for my daughter. And with discounts my bill is about $100 lower per month…

I have a $15/month prepaid T-mobile Connect plan & have been happy with it. Every couple months I buy prepaid refill cards with my Target Red Card for 5% off & try to stack them with other special offers, like buy one, get 10% off a second card.

$140 a month for 5 lines is super cheap. I’m assuming you’re not financing any phones? We just switched to AT&T as well because my wife is a nurse and gets 25% off of service. For 3 lines, and 3 financed phones it’s like $135 a month. A bit cheaper than the 175 we were paying with T-Mobile but so far service doesn’t seem as good. I know Verizon is the best but you pay for it for sure.

Fi-$80 for 4 lines. Best deal in our area with good coverage.

  • CloneEngineer

Have 4 lines on Google fi, $96/month total. Visible uses Verizon spectrum, also an option.

  • KafkaExploring

Also worth trying each zip code if you’re covering parents in another city. I’d rather my fees support the 911 center in their small town, and it’s $4/line cheaper than if we had it at my address. Doesn’t impact where your e911 call is routed or anything, purely financial.

I pay $25 a month with visible and am happy with my iPhone SE from 2019. Apple will have to pry od off my cold dead hands before I ever consider getting a new phone or phone plan

    or use mint…
