## Netflix Ventures into the Snack Market with Now Popping Popcorn

Netflix is making waves in the snack industry by entering the popcorn market.

The streaming giant has taken a decisive step into the snack realm, teaming up with Popcorn Indiana to introduce a new line of popcorn branded as Netflix: Now Popping. The debut of Now Popping is set for today across Walmart stores nationwide.

Alongside the launch, consumers can expect flavor options such as “Cult Classic Cheddar Kettle Corn” and “Swoonworthy Cinnamon Kettle Corn.”

Interestingly, Netflix is not the pioneer in entertainment companies venturing into popcorn production or collaborating with Walmart on popcorn products.

In a similar vein, AMC Theatres in 2021 announced its foray into the snack sector, offering both microwavable and bagged versions. The previous year, the company struck a partnership with Walmart, where both varieties are available.

Popcorn has emerged as a lucrative commodity for cinemas, boosted by unique popcorn tubs such as the trending Dune: Part Two container (for curious minds, Google it) or the upcoming offerings for Deadpool and Wolverine.

As Netflix expands its reach, the company has been expanding its consumer business and organizing live events to diversify revenue streams beyond streaming services.

In 2021, Netflix introduced an online shop featuring merchandise from its shows and subsequently established a pop-up store at The Grove in Los Angeles.

Moreover, Netflix launched Netflix Bites, a pop-up restaurant in Los Angeles with curated menus by chefs from its programming. The company has also unveiled interactive experiences in cities like New York and L.A., based on popular shows such as Bridgerton and Squid Game.

Next year, Netflix plans to amalgamate all these elements with the launch of its first two Netflix House locations in Texas and Pennsylvania, offering shopping, dining, and immersive experiences in former department store settings.
