### Legal Advice Needed Regarding Publicity Posting Video

Hello everyone, I am seeking some guidance on the potential legal implications of sharing a video depicting a local businessman behaving erratically in a parking lot situated behind his business. The individual in question was seen shouting and engaging in verbally abusive behavior towards neighbors, with the content of his outburst being particularly offensive. This individual presents himself as a pillar of the community, despite his actual behavior suggesting otherwise.

### Laws Surrounding Publicly Sharing Video Content

The recording of this individual took place in a public setting, specifically the open and shared parking lot of a building. The neighbors who were subjected to his abusive behavior also use this same parking area. I am contemplating sharing this video publicly to expose his actions and bring attention to his behavior. It is worth noting that the individual in question may be able to identify the person who recorded the video based on various factors such as perspectives and angles. Given his inclination to resort to legal action to safeguard his reputation and interests, I am wary of potential repercussions.

There is no expectation of privacy in a public parking lot.

Even if you’re right, do you have the resources to become embroiled in a lawsuit?

He can file suit, and you have to defend it. This takes time and money.

It depends, If there is a video that is uncut and starts before he engages you and stays on until you leave you can do what you want with it. Except use it for personal gain unless you were part of the conversation.

But if you have a video that starts part way thru the encounter then they can try and sue and say the video is out of context.

It also depends on what is said in the video.

If you posted the video anonymously or handed it over to a reporter he would have a very hard time proving you took the video, as long as you were not being paid for it.

But at the end of the day since I have no idea what the video is i can only guess.

Pass it to the local police as evidence of disorderly conduct/public disturbance etc. That should begin the process of it being public record.
