Not impossible that this is genuine. I’ve done the same thing (ordering from a very poorly designed website that somehow autofilled an old address and would’t let me review my order).
You’ve got got their contact details, if the package turns up you can call them, otherwise it simply isn’t your problem. If they try and get you to compensate them, it was a scam all along.

Hm, if the place was vacant that long between tenants I would wonder if they are not in fact the previous tenant but were using the address temporarily to revive shipments for some other scam. If so, they will leave you alone now that it’s obvious no more packages can come to this occupied house.
While it could be a scam, I accidentally shipped several hundred dollars worth of stuff to my old address quite a while after moving. I swear I updated my address, but a few hours later I noticed in the confirmation email that it was shipping to my old address saved on the website. Even though they hadn’t shipped the company wouldn’t let me cancel or change the shipping. (Their terms say up to 45 minutes after confirming the order. Fuck you, Home Depot)

I live in another state now, it wasn’t going to be worth my while to try to get the people that bought my house to try to ship it to me, pay them for the shipping costs, and hope that I wasn’t spending more money on something I might not get, so I let it go, but stuff does happen.
It might be legit, or it might be a scam. At the end of the day, it’s not your problem. If the package shows up, make whatever effort you believe is appropriate to return it to its rightful owner. You can contact them to pick it up or call the shipper to have it returned. Or you can do nothing at all.

Sounds like they stole a credit card and used your address. Credit card company reversed purchase fast and the seller had a chance to stop the delivery.
Its also possible the post will hold the package and return to sender anyway if it’s really been vacant that long since they might know previous tenant names. I had that happen at my apartment. Guy was waiting a package and some type of license. Package never showed and I gave the certified mail to the manager office to deal with.
Edit: I’d be worried and watch for porch pirating now more than before.
