Greensboro community holds small business fair

A local community in Greensboro held its first small business fair on Saturday. The event was organized at the CH Brown Family Center, where various local organizations and groups gathered together. The main objective of the fair was to address local social justice issues faced by businesses and it drew inspiration from the Justice Coalition.

The Justice Coalition aims to establish connections between different organizations within the community. Yvonne Hunt Perry, the coordinator of the event, emphasized the need for such collaborations, stating, “We feel that there is a need in the community for the Justice Coalition to connect with different organizations.”

The fair also featured the participation of New Light Missionary Baptist Church, represented by Cardes Brown, the head custodian. According to Brown, “This is a critical time and the need for our being able to coalize around issues that should concern all of us. Justice issues, love issues, how in a social order we ought to be able to live together in harmony.”

Around 10 different local businesses were showcased at the event, each presenting their efforts towards solving the identified issues. Brown emphasized the power of unity by stating, “We will always be able to do more together than we will be able to do separate and apart.”
