One hundred students at Middletown High School have completed a course in drone and flight science, and now, they have the opportunity to take their knowledge to the next level.

The Board of Education recently voted unanimously to approve a new drone small business course, which will be taught in partnership with Aquiline Drones, a minority-owned business based in Hartford.

Course Details

The new course, taught by aerospace education teacher Paul Pelletier, will focus on the planning and operation of a business using drones to power wash buildings, one of the businesses of Aquiline Drones. The course description outlines that students will study topics such as Industry Overview, Commercial Drone Systems, Business plan, Financial services, and Mission assets.

Potential Benefits

Completion of the drone and flight science course is required as a prerequisite for the new drone small business course, and it has been reported that at least 100 students have already fulfilled this requirement.
