The only time I can think of where you might get OHA and TLA is if you were authorized TLA while on unaccompanied orders and were getting OHA for dependents.
In your case, you get only TLA for the days from when you check in OCONUS until you have a lease to start OHA. You can find this in DoD FMR, Volume 7a, Chapter 26, 10.10.1:
>Old PDS in the United States. A Service memberÔÇÖs old PDS is the PDS for BAH purposes from the day the Service member departs the old PDS **through the day before the Service member reports to the new PDS** in compliance with a PCS order. If the Service member had been residing in Government quarters at the old PDS, the Service member is authorized BAH as of the Government quarters termination date.
Your BAH stops when you depart conus. The date you flew out of BWI, ATL, etc.
TLA will cover your lodging. Usually claimed in 15 day increments.
OHA starts day your lease/rental starts.
You stop receiving BAH entitlement the day you out process your previous base. You donÔÇÖt begin your OHA entitlement until you find a house and file the paperwork to begin OHA payments. In between this time you only have your TLA entitlement to pay for your lodging, and your per diem, which depends on the facilities your lodging is equipped with, and your locations OCOLA rate.
