Planned to purchase an rental property in Edmonton and needed to find a lawyer to complete the transaction. I was referred to Matt with Prowse Chowne and he provided excellent service, along side his assistant Allison. Living in Vancouver with limited time, he was very responsive to any questions or concerns I had through out the process and was able to provide services virtually which was very helpful. I look forward to work with the team again in the future. Highly recommend!
We had to deal with an expropriation case related to the LRT and our business. From the beginning Paul Barrette and Kristen Holt made sure I understood what to expect and answered any questions ( I had many) about this process which took years to complete. They are professional and thorough and when it was time to get what we were fairly entitled to, they made sure we were taken care of and got what we deserved. They enjoyed it as well. I would recommend Prowse Chowne for any needs you may have.
Ryan was exceptional. We had an unusual situation with former friends living in our home, and no other lawyers were knowledgeable enough to help us since it wasn’t clear if the RTA applied. Ryan was professional and communicative. He helped us wrap up a messy situation quickly and efficiently. I would absolutely recommend him for any issues involving tenants or rentals.
This review has been a while in coming; however, my appreciation of the efforts of this firm, especially Myles Applin, still needs to be given.
Prowse Chowne LLP came to my attention through the Alberta lawyer referral program. While the first two firms suggested arbitrarily dismissed me and my case, Philip Prowse did not. He listened and came up with a plan and introduced me to the firmÔÇÖs then student-at-law Myles Applin.
ATB had issued a default judgment against me for a third-party debt, and I was fighting it. While I represented myself, the advice and guidance Myles gave me were invaluable. He was always available to take my calls and answer questions and review my documents before submission. He was also a source of encouragement throughout my self-representation during which I was a nervous wreck. (My budget prohibited any full legal representation). I learned so much about law and the court system through all of this.
Thankfully, the judge dismissed ATBÔÇÖs claim against me, and I was also awarded court costs. I donÔÇÖt think I would have been as successful as I was without Myles.
I am grateful to Philp and Myles for their help, patience and constructive thinking. If I ever need a lawyer again, I will be back.
Disorganized, uncommunicative, dismissive. Billed lots but left (MY) easy money on the table. My lawyer went on leave with no communication about it. Also heard nothing from managing partner when I cc’d him about my concerns.
