UNITY — East Palestine junior Cale Moraski has proven to be the missing piece the Bulldogs needed as they secured their second consecutive win since his return, with a 9-1 victory over Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Wellsville on Tuesday.

“He is a huge asset to this team,” East Palestine coach Aaron Walker expressed. “He came back Friday in the lineup was able to bat. He just ignites the lineup and everybody just feeds off of him in that lead off spot. It is great to have him back.”

East Palestine now stands at 2-5 overall and 2-1 in the EOAC, while Wellsville drops to 1-9 and 1-3 in the EOAC.

Moraski had been sidelined at the beginning of the season due to a collision that occurred with teammate Blake Noel in a preseason hitting practice. This unfortunate incident left Moraski with a broken jaw and Noel with a broken collarbone that ended his season.

“It was like a really freak accident,” Moraski recalled. “Nobody called for the ball and it was like a head-on collision.”
