Streamlining Small Business Innovation Research for the Air Force

The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) process. This partnership aims to accelerate the small business experience through faster proposal to award timelines. The collaboration also expands opportunities for small businesses and eliminates bureaucratic overhead by implementing process improvement changes in contract execution.

The Department of the Air Force (DAF) began offering the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program in 2018, which broadens the range of innovations the DAF funds. Dynepic will embark on creating and providing innovative capabilities that strengthen the national defense of the United States of America. This initiative aligns with the company’s mission to power an open ecosystem of multi-dimensional knowledge for a better tomorrow.

During the exploration phase of the project, it became evident that there was no cohesive standard for identifying, tracking, and remixing 3D assets across various USAF groups, resulting in inefficiencies and wasted time for Airmen. However, with MOTAR’s digital thread capabilities, users can now maintain links (the digital thread) to original authoritative sources while also creating digital remixes. This ensures that all training apps leverage the most current certified models, ultimately future-proofing the content within MOTAR Hub for the United States Air Force (USAF).

The AI legalese decoder developed by Dynepic will play a vital role in ensuring compliance and accuracy in the digital thread process. By deciphering complex legal language and providing a clear understanding of the legal requirements, the AI legalese decoder enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of maintaining the digital thread. It minimizes errors and discrepancies that may arise from misinterpretation, safeguarding the integrity and reliability of the content within MOTAR Hub.
