New York State Sen. Sean Ryan announced 26 Shirts as the recipient of the 61st Senate District Small Business of the Month award for October. Sean Ryan will honor the company with a New York State Senate Empire Award to acknowledge their exceptional fundraising contributions to the Western New York community.

26 Shirts, founded by Del Reid in 2013, specializes in selling limited-edition Buffalo-themed apparel. The company unveils a new design every two weeks and engages in pre-order campaigns. During each campaign, $8 of every shirt’s sale price is donated to a charitable organization or a local family in need. Additionally, the independent artists who create the designs receive $1 for every shirt sold. Currently, the “Traditional Vintage” campaign aims to support East Aurora native Ashley Winder and is active until Sunday, Nov. 5.

Since its establishment, 26 Shirts has raised nearly $2 million for a range of causes in Western New York. The funds primarily benefit individuals facing medical concerns or unexpected family emergencies. The company is set to host an event on Thursday, Nov. 9, at Sports 365 Bar & Grill. This occasion will mark the premiere of a short film that chronicles the company’s first ten years.
