Hi everyone, this is my first time on Reddit, so I hope I can get some help.

Background Information
About a month ago, I began training at A Swim School, where I would get into the pool with kids aged 3m to 12y and have been practicing taking lessons.

Unfair Situation
For three weeks, I have been in a “training” period, where I have been told that only SEVEN HOURS, out of almost the 30-40 I have worked, will be paid for.

Further Concerns
Tomorrow, I begin teaching BY MYSELF in the pool, but I have not been given a contract (it was meant to be sent to me this week, now told I will receive it by mid-next week).

Unfair Treatment
I have not been paid or compensated for any of my time so far. I only have been given two shifts a week, TWO HOURS in the morning and THREE HOURS in the evening (I was told I would be working three days a week, all 3-5 hours).

Not Sure What to Do
I don’t know what to do and that’s kind of why I’m here. I am going to call Fair Work in the morning (I start at 9am), and I don’t even know if I should go in for two hours if I haven’t even signed a contract.

Additional Information

  • I have still not been asked to provide a WWC (I do have one, this is not an issue).
  • I have no swim teacher qualifications, apparently have to be paid from my own pocket ($400 or more).
  • No current first aid/CPR training, which I was told I needed (done in the past, but not updated).
