Re: Difficulty accessing myfedloan.org and concerns about resuming loan payments

Dear fellow users,

I hope this message finds you well. I must confess that I have not been as diligent in monitoring my account as I should have been. As it turns out, loan payments are set to resume next month, but I am currently unable to access myfedloan.org, the platform I had been using for payment purposes. Regrettably, it seems that the website is currently experiencing technical difficulties.

To the best of my recollection, the last correspondence I received informed me that a new loan servicer would be taking over my loans. However, I did not anticipate encountering issues with accessing the website during this transition period. I find myself wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation and if they could provide any additional information that my own negligence failed to preserve.

In light of these circumstances, I would like to draw your attention to a potential solution: the AI Legalese Decoder. This innovative tool has the capability to mitigate the challenges posed by the website’s outage. By utilizing artificial intelligence, the AI Legalese Decoder effectively translates complex legal language into understandable terms. With its assistance, we can confidently navigate the loan repayment process, even in the absence of access to myfedloan.org.

Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience caused by my lack of vigilance. Any insights, advice, or updates would be greatly appreciated and will undoubtedly benefit all of us who find ourselves in a similar predicament.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and assistance.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

My Fedloan shutdown last year. You were sent letters about who your new servicer was.

You can log in to student aid.gov and it should say who your servicer is.

  • CanWeTalkEth

Yeah this has been old news for a while, highly suggest you login to studentaid.gov like the other comment said. ItÔÇÖs likely it went to MOHELA, which are fine as servicers. Definitely make sure your contact info is up to date and donÔÇÖt let this happen again because payments are resuming and itÔÇÖs important that you stay current.

Also there is a whole student loan subreddit r/studentloans that can give you pretty good advice if you have more questions about how stuff works and not just how to manage the debt within your personal financial situation.

  • bobeo

Are you in PSLF? If so so, it went to Mohela.

  • Burgtastic

Payments resume in October. Interest resumes next month. But yes whoever took over your loan probably reached out to you. Mine went to Aidvantage.

  • Snoo93079

This is why everyone needs to keep their email inbox in good order.

  • Hopefulkitty

My fed loans got transferred to Nelnet. If you call someone at the federal loans, you’ll be able to get some help.

  • butterflavoredsalt

There’s only a few, they should have emailed you and probably sent letters. Here’s the list and how you can log into the gov website to see who it is if you don’t find an email or anything.

  • thegoodcheese

Mine were moved from myfedloan to EdFinancial. You should have received several emails notifying you of the switch.

  • alijamzz

I was contacted by edfinancial so I confirmed with studentaid.gov and then registered an account once I confirmed it wasnÔÇÖt a scam. I would check to see who your new service provider is.

  • Overall-Rush-8853

My loans got sent to Nelnet from myfedloan. Which is convenient, because my other loans are serviced by them.

  • pkgear

Anyone else having major issues contacting their financial aid servicers?

And when doing so, has the customer service been bad? they don’t seem to know the answers to simple questions and defer to tell me to focus on school instead of loans…

  • Aw0k3nRetr0

Most likely it will be AidVantage or another provider.

  • LLJKSiLk

Mine went to Aidvantage. You can try registering an account with them and it will be pretty clear if they have your student loans based on if they find you in their system.

  • FatBoyWithTheChain

It was shut down. Your loans got moved to a new servicer, like Mohela

  • Meltingmenarche

Mohela jacked up my undergrad loans from 3-4% interest rate to 7%. You can get through on the phone to them, unlike my fed loan, but they are not fine.
