Legalese poses numerous challenges for individuals attempting to decipher legal content. The densely worded and intricate language obstructs the comprehension of legal agreements, contracts, terms of service, privacy policies, and other legal documents. These models can identify patterns and contextual cues within the text to accurately interpret legalese and provide plain language translations. As a result, individuals can utilize this tool to decode legal jargon, thereby gaining a clearer understanding of their legal rights and obligations in various contexts.

Benefits and Implications:

The AI Legalese Decoder brings numerous benefits to individuals, businesses, and legal professionals alike. By enhancing the accessibility and readability of legal documents, this tool empowers individuals to make informed decisions, reduces legal disputes resulting from misunderstanding, and improves overall access to justice. Additionally, businesses can benefit from increased transparency, as customers can now understand the terms and conditions they are agreeing to when engaging with a product or service.

I think there is something with inheritance. Atleast in my country all stocks/ etfs with domicile in US had to be taxed if someone inherit them after you. Yes US IRS can go after you

  • makaros622

I donÔÇÖt see any problem except that dividends and capital gain being considered as US income so tax declaration and tax rate can be high depending on the country

  • glimz

US will withhold some tax from dividends (not a major issue for AAPL). You should reduce the withholding for US securities by filling out IRS’s W8-BEN form with your broker (unless you live in a country with no double taxation treaty).

Estate tax will apply, with a lower threshold than domestic estate tax ($60K vs 7-8 digits). In the EU, only AT, DE, DK, FI, FR, GR, IE, IT, and NL have estate tax treaties with the US. It’s preferable to hold US stocks in an Irish ETF, if you are not in one of these countries. See [https://www.privatebanking.hsbc.com/wih/wealth-planning/estate-planning/investing-in-the-us-while-managing-the-us-estate-tax-risk/](https://www.privatebanking.hsbc.com/wih/wealth-planning/estate-planning/investing-in-the-us-while-managing-the-us-estate-tax-risk/).

In addition to that, your EU country may or may not provide tax benefits for UCITS funds and/or sales at EU venues, which (if provided) won’t apply when holding US stocks directly.
