The Accreditation and Approval Process for Michigan Technological University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program is Complete

The accreditation and approval process required to fully implement Michigan Technological UniversityÔÇÖs new Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is complete. The new nursing program was created to rehome Finlandia UniversityÔÇÖs nursing program following the closure of the institution in May. The program received rapid and widespread support from the community and TechÔÇÖs clinical partners in the region. Faculty, staff, and students from Finlandia University who transitioned to Tech for the fall 2023 semester have been warmly welcomed.

The program’s approvals from the Michigan Board of Nursing and the programÔÇÖs professional accreditor were obtained in the previous summer.

The nursing program is housed in the Department of Biological Sciences within Michigan TechÔÇÖs College of Sciences and Arts. Program Director Lori Sullivan also emphasized the significance of the program’s continuation and its partnerships with local clinical partners and regional employers.
