Apple Inc Ramps up iPhone Production in India

(Reuters) – Apple Inc has significantly increased its iPhone production in India, with Bloomberg News reporting that the tech giant has assembled $14 billion worth of iPhones in fiscal 2024.

Apple’s shift to manufacturing in India has resulted in the production of as much as 14% of its flagship devices from the country, representing about 1 in 7 iPhones, according to sources familiar with the matter cited in the report.

Recent reports also indicate that Pegatron is in advanced discussions to transfer control of its sole iPhone manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu to the Tata Group. Additionally, the Tata Group is in the process of setting up a new plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with Pegatron potentially becoming its joint venture partner.
