    ItÔÇÖs sad but it could be based on some more information. Like relationship to the deceased. My job allows bereavement for immediate family (mother, father, brother, sister, children, and in laws) but only allows grandparents if you prove that you live with them or they live with you. My grandmother passed away and I couldnÔÇÖt take bereavement because I had moved out of the family house a month before and my license had my new address. I had to use my PTO hours.

    That being said I would be surprised if bereavement is legally required to be covered in Texas tbh.
