Conner Elizabeth Knuckles of Albany, Georgia, is the recipient of the Fall 2023 PresidentÔÇÖs Award for Academic Excellence for the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration at Valdosta State University. VALDOSTA ÔÇö Conner Elizabeth Knuckles of Albany, Georgia, is the proud recipient of the prestigious Fall 2023 PresidentÔÇÖs Award for Academic Excellence for the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration at Valdosta State University. This award is presented to a high-performing graduating student in each of the university’s six colleges, recognizing their exceptional achievements and contributions to their respective fields.

Thanks to her dedication and commitment to academic excellence, Knuckles will be honored during VSUÔÇÖs 236th Commencement on December 9. She will proudly receive her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and graduate summa cum laude, showcasing her exceptional academic achievements.

She highlighted the profound influence of Dr. Cheri Tillman, her professor and honors advisor, as well as other mentors and encouragers like Dr. Cori Crews, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Dr. Nancy Swanson, Mrs. Lynn Crump, Dr. Candace Witherspoon, and many others who have nurtured her personal and professional growth during her undergraduate years.

During her time at VSU, Knuckles actively participated in various organizations, including Beta Gamma Sigma: The International Business Honor Society, Baptist Collegiate Ministries, and the Institute of Management Accountants. She held multiple leadership positions within these organizations and also served as a student ambassador for Becker Professional Education and a representative for the college’s strategic planning committees.

Notably, Knuckles’ outstanding commitment to academic, leadership, and service excellence resulted in her receiving several accolades, such as earning a place on the Dean’s List multiple times, receiving scholarships from prestigious organizations like the First Bank Scholarship and the Institute of Management Accountants Scholarship, and winning awards from the Georgia Society of CPAs, including the Valdosta Chapter Scholarship, Albany Chapter Scholarship, Coastal Georgia Chapter Scholarship, Bennett Thrasher PC Scholarship, and Collins/Moody + Company Scholarship.

Upon graduation, Knuckles has ambitious plans to continue her academic journey at VSU by pursuing a Master of Accountancy. She aims to pass the certified public accounting licensure exam and subsequently establish a successful career in public accounting.
