## Fifty Students from Lawrence County Set to Compete in State FBLA Conference

Fifty students from Lawrence County are gearing up to compete in the upcoming state Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) conference, which will be held from April 8-10 in Hershey. The students, representing schools such as Laurel, Mohawk, Neshannock, and Wilmington, earned their spots after a successful showing at the FBLA Region 2 Leadership Conference held on January 9 at Slippery Rock University.

### Laurel High School

Thirteen students from Laurel High School participated in the regional competition, with an impressive seven students qualifying for the state competition. Among the qualifiers are Sydney Alfera and Samantha Pemberton-Reckard, who secured first place in marketing. Ava Conti claimed the third position in business management, while Addie Deal clinched the second spot in accounting I. Additionally, Angel Milbert, Tyler Shearer, and Taylin Smith secured the third position in international business.

### Mohawk High School

A total of 22 students from Mohawk High School competed in the regional competition, with an impressive 17 students finishing in the top five of their respective events. Ten students from Mohawk High School have qualified for the upcoming state competition. In addition to their competition, the students had the opportunity to listen to Andrew Fee, a former graduate of Mohawk High School who currently serves as the executive director of the Special Olympics PA Three Rivers Region.

### Neshannock High School

Neshannock High School showcased the participation of 101 students in the regional competition, with an outstanding 95 students placing in the top five of their respective events. Thirty students from Neshannock High School have punched their tickets to the state competition. The students who qualified for the state competition have excelled in various categories including business communication, business law, hospitality and event management, graphic design, and public speaking, among others.

### Wilmington High School

Fourteen students from Wilmington High School competed in the regional competition, and three students have qualified for the state conference. The students from Wilmington High School who have qualified for the state competition have proven their skills in accounting, sports and entertainment management, and business calculations.
