Block all numbers and social media contacts from these people. Ask your girlfriend to do the same. Consider going to the police to report these malicious allegations.

  • Katatonic92

I understand why you would be wary of reporting this to the police but unless she makes an official statement to the police claiming you raped her, you won’t be arrested. And if she makes a false report to the police, she will be in trouble.

It would be wiser to get ahead of this & explain the situation to the police, so if she does go on to make a report, they will have a record of this in your favour.

Has she said anything to you in text? Something you can document & provide to the police? Messages? Voicemails? Phone bills highlighting incoming calls from these numbers that have threatened you & your GF? What about putting these calls on speaker & recording what is said?it is possible there is an app for that type of thing that you could add to your phones. Anything you can give the police to support your claim of harassment.

The police will be able to speak to the people involved in this to warn them to stop. This is harassment.

Another option is instructing a solicitor to write a letter before action to her, warning her of court action if she doesn’t stop. I’d seek police assistance first though.

  • Electrical_Concern67

This is police territory; and you wont be arrested – at least initially. I actually dont see what the necessity would be to arrest at all; except the baffling policy that anything DV must be arrested (ridiculous as it is)

However on the flip side you are getting threatening calls and messages which easily meet the standard for harassment, and it seems will only escalate.

  • AR-Legal

    Report it to the police.

The fact that your ex has spent a year spreading rumours about you, but never reported her ÔÇ£allegationÔÇØ to the police is something that would undermine her credibility.

On the other side of the coin, the fact that you are being threatened and report it to the police would be consistent with the notion *that you arenÔÇÖt a rapist and have nothing to fear*

  • nokia7110

Go to the police, but go with receipts.

Open word document, insert screenshots of call logs and messages. Print and hand over to police.

  • Active_Remove1617

What the fuck is happening in the UK? I was accused of a sex crime two years ago. Mistaken identity and it would not have been possible for me to be where I was alleged to have been. Nevertheless, the first 20 minutes with the police at my door was terrifying. A friend was accused of rape and it went to court before he was acquitted. And now another mate has been accused of rape by a woman who has done this to two other men. Dragged naked from his bed by armed police He was suicidal on the phone to me last night. The police are treating it as – non-urgent. IÔÇÖm wondering if there are as many false accusations as real ones. I know IÔÇÖll be downvoted for saying, but wtf is happening?

  • craigyboy8484

Make call logs, save any messages, screenshot etc. Definitely go to the police first, if you haven’t done anything illegal, it looks better you go first and report this harassment, then they know of this situation if anything escalates, which it sounds like it will. If you go now and get the police involved, sooner rather than later, it may stop the calls etc. You haven’t done anything wrong and rumours can lead to all sorts, nip in the bud now.

  • Pure_Translator_9833

Get them involved, looks way better on you if you go to the police. SheÔÇÖs accusing you, your word against hers. At least if you get arrested thatÔÇÖs one thing you can tick off!

Seems youÔÇÖve done nothing wrong, record the spam calls, write numbers down, names etc. screenshot and save everything

  • dandilion788

Well isnÔÇÖt that deformation of character? DonÔÇÖt we have strong laws about that? Depending on your line of work that legally can be very damaging to reputations / falsehoods can effect you income. IÔÇÖd shop around for a solicitor

  • DeftWolfe

Go to the police. Report this as malicious communications and don’t block anyone, for evidence gathering. Keep any messages do not engage with them and if you do answer any calls try and record what is said but do not talk to them.

Safeguard yourself… keep what you are doing off social media and any personal information on social media should be taken down. Only let those that need to know, know what you are doing and where you are going. If any direct threats are made and they sound likely to you then call 999. Make a family member/trusted friend aware of what’s happened and let them know where you are.
These are safeguarding measures to mitigate risk and are based around worst case scenario. But yes this is reportable to police. Try 101 if this is in the past or 999. If you feel safe enough and it’s not immediately threatening you can also report online in most force areas but would advise 101 or 999

  • fuckb8

My partner went through this. I’d advise blocking all of those numbers, don’t respond at all and call 101 to make a report of harassment. They might not do anything but its best to have a report of it all there in case it does escalate. Good luck, I really hope they leave you alone.

  • MattStormTornado

This shit happened with me and my ex tho minus the new bf cuz to my knowledge sheÔÇÖs still single.

If nothing much happens then IÔÇÖd try not to worry but if itÔÇÖs affecting your day to day life, you could look at filing a report for slander. If she actually files a complaint IÔÇÖd be surprised, but if she does then IÔÇÖd get a lawyer and they can give you better advice than Reddit.

  • bigeeee

Go to the police immediately! Do not block anyone on any social media or phones and collect as much evidence as possible.

  • Euphoric_Rooster_90

POLICE, POLICE, POLICE. We’ve seen way too many times where people take Vigilante justice and kill the “perpetrator” only to find out later on that it was fake, or all lies.

  • Sea_Sprinkles2183

You speak to police officers mate . She still needs to be able to prove her allegations. If sheÔÇÖs making false allegations you can take her to court . If youÔÇÖre absolutely sure she didnÔÇÖt withdraw consent during sex then you have nothing to worry about. Police doesnÔÇÖt charge unless there is evidence . TheyÔÇÖll probably seize your phone and maybe her phone too and try to find evidence. Since itÔÇÖs been a while , forensic evidence would nearly impossible to recover so they would rely either on witnesses or cctv etc. at best is no further action for ya

  • 450925

You need to contact the police… First, to find out if she has made a report to the police. If she’s not, then you need to make a harassment complaint and a restraining order against her and her friends/boyfriend. You also need to document every time and date she is circumventing a ban, or blocking a number to phone you. These incremental instances are your evidence of harassment.

If she has already made a statement and they are opening a case against you. Then you need to contact a lawyer and get out ahead of it. Being that I’m guessing you’re a teenager, you should qualify for legal aid.

  • meringueisnotacake

Hey OP, I’m currently in a somewhat-related situation. One of my friends is having rumours spread about him. The police have confirmed that without substantial proof, it could be seen as malicious communication, especially if the person spreading the messages isn’t confident that the information they are spreading is true.

Go and seek support. The police have been surprisingly helpful to my friend, who has never been treated as guilty but rather a vulnerable party.

  • RandyRavage69

Do u have any texts or voice messages from her abusing u? If do then i suggest u take this to the police. You will have to get the police involved regardless as it will eventually come to ur front door. She has no evidence so ur fine. Even if she does report it, ull have to give a statement and aslong as u dont say anything silly ull be fine.
Might be sensible to speak directly with the bf to let him know what he has got himself into. Good luck

  • Brottolot

You wont be arrested, you’re a victim of a crime. Since it’s more than 1 incident it’d be harassment.

Be sure to mention who she has said this to (your friends and current girlfriend) when reporting OP. The police will need to take statements. Take a screenshot of any texts, keep any voicemails. And a a screenshot of your call log from when they kept ringing you.

    Report this asap.

  • hunta666

Speak with the police and give an explanation of the circumstances. Better be ahead of this than reacting to it afterwards.

Also to be formally charged the police would need to be satisfied there is a case to be answered based on what was reported. A year after the fact there won’t be any forensics so will be a bit more tricky than simply saying you did x or y. There’s the matter of proof.

Provide as much supporting evidence such as text messages and emails from during your relationship and have them ready just in case as evidence. Equally if anyone has come to you and said they are concerned that’s she’s saying these things about you and are in a position to say they are knowingly false are also worth mentioning to police in case they want to speak to them.

  • Designer_Plenty_8084

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE POLICE AS OTHERS HAVE SUGGESTED yes the caps were intentional.

As I have said before on this threat, this type of question is so common. Break all contact with you ex and ask your current gf to do the same. Do no react. Don not respond and don’t let anyone you know respond either.

Keep records off her contacts for future evidence but that is it. Do not report her to the police as this may led her to making the allegations official, which will throw a far bigger spanner into you works.

Ignore her and that is that. If you want, speak to a local specialist solicitor about that matter but PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE POLICE AS OTHERS HAVE SUGGESTED.

I am thinking off creating an answer for this type of angry ex and copy and pasting it as it is so common. Just move on with your life.

  • DameiusLameocrates

Everyone saying report it to the police, so defos do that.
You might try baiting her into admitting its a false allegation, with something like:
“Why are you lying and telling people I raped you, its ruining my life?”
