That’s weird reasoning. Are there never minors at Lowes?

  • bleep275

All sex offenders really need to a protest or something about the awful treatment in terms of employment. Like how tf are we able to reintegrate back into society when weÔÇÖre not even allowed near it

  • [deleted]

Bring it in front of a judge. A judge will grant you permission to work for FedEx. Whomever made that decision at probation is dumb.

  • Reasonable_Mall_7031

I think you can work at UPS in the warehouse, just not making deliveries to private homes. And know someone who worked a home depot and after 3 weeks was ousted by a customer, made a big deal about he is a RSO told lots of people in the store mostly other customers and some staff. Until the manager had to let him go. This lady yelled in the store Pedophile and pointed at him for 30 muns until he ran into the break room out of her view. She did not even know what he did He never touched a child.

  • RufusDoofusBoofus

So damn stupid friend of mine same boat had a good gig driving his 18 wheeler for dollar general and they told him no because he could come into contact with a minor at the store

  • Visual_Eggplant_6993

I got denied doing a paper route on probation, because of the minors when I was on probation. That was a decade ago. Just recently, I couldnÔÇÖt get a doordash gig, because of the minor contact. I havenÔÇÖt been on the list in 2 years.

  • Ok_Mathematician9883

Exactly on we never know what they are thinking, they pick and choose who they want to let do things. But if I turn down a job while on unemployment I can be in big trouble, probation doesnÔÇÖt care they went you back in jail.

  • [deleted]

Minors cannot work at Fed ex can they? This stipulation makes no sense…. I would never take a deal with this as a condition…

  • Longjumping_Pitch168

I WOULD ALSO SAY 1 ISSUE IS SUPERVISED CONTACT VS UNSUPERVISED CONTACT,,,
IF A PERSON DELIVERS TO AN UNATTENDED MINOR AT HOME,, WHOSE TO SAY WHAT HAPPENED OR DIDNT HAPPEN

  • EuropeanMacron

That is crazy and seems inconsistent by your probation office. My Parole offer specifically listed FedEx (the warehouse side) as an employer who takes parolees. Obviously the delivery side is out of the question; if you deliver to a house for a package that requires signature and only a minor is present, you’ve just violated Megan’s Law.

Lowe’s and Home Depot definitely take SOs, as employees have to be 18 or older to work there. The only minors you come across are customers; under most restrictions with ML, you are at least allowed to interact with minors if it’s in a public setting or for reasons related to work. But if minors are *employed*, the establishment is a no-go because they don’t know for a fact if there’s a chance with private interaction with the employee.

  • Krunzen64

Another problem with delivery jobs is how do you handle when a school has a delivery?. Depending on the state, that is a huge issue. A prison buddy got UPS job in CA upon release. He quit though, because his route had regular drop off at 3 schools. I didn’t agree with his thinking, but he felt it put him in danger.

  • Krunzen64

Perhaps because Lowes is more open and visible , whereas delivery might be to a minor at home. It’s lame reasoning, but you never know what they are thinking.

  • mittens1982

The fed ex part is true. It’s about supervision issues the most, then delivery to schools/residence.

  • tiredofthisyet

Yes because children are prohibited from entering any Lowes establishment. The logic of these guys escapes me. They know the whole thing is ridiculous but they do not set most rules. Legislators do.

  • Next-Chocolate-9255

IÔÇÖm sure most of you should be familiar with NARSOL. They have been trying for years to get laws changed, if not check them out http://www.narsol.org
